Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Careen Prevost, has been praised for the work she has accomplished in that ministry. Prevost, who held that position for over 2 years, is relinquishing her duties as PS in tourism effective June 1, 2019, but will continue as the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Climate Resilience, Disaster Management and Urban Renewal .
The Minister for Tourism thanked Prevost for her hard work and strong leadership role in the ministry.
“There is so much to be commended in recognition of her leadership qualities and demonstrated commitment to success and excellence,” Minister for Tourism Tonge stated, reading a citation which preceded of the presentation of an award to Prevost.
Prevost’s greatest task was leading the Tourism recovery effort right after Hurricane Maria.
“But with her technical skills and unwavering commitment, she was able to lead and direct a team of dedicated individuals. Along with stakeholders, she was able to pick up the pieces of the stricken tourism economy,” Tonge stated.
Tonge, who was speaking at the annual Tourism Awareness Month 2019 Award Ceremony, thanked Prevost for “the amazing work she has done for tourism” and said although she will be missed, he took comfort in knowing that she is not too far away, and because of the working relationship that has already been established with the Ministry of Environment, Climate Resilience, Disaster Management and Urban Renewal, “the synergy will continue.”
so now it is confirmed and admitted that the young lady held 2 Permanent secretary positions at the same time….2 different ministries altogether eh ….and i should think 2 different salaries eh……strike 1
in the young lady’s 2 year stint as PS for Tourism following Hurricane Maria….cam you ,mention at least one of her shining accomplishments?……strike 2

AMAZING WORK? waw. im amazed by that remark myself. Maybe is tourism staff that not doing their job i dont know. But tourism is left seriously wanting in Dominica.

Because obviously the roles and skill sets are very similar. Makes perfect sense.
Ms prevost, like so many other cabinet employees is no doubt a very good and dedicated worker and I know she will continue to do well wherever she goes to or is moved to. Unfortunately for her the darkness in the cabinet is so damn dark and the evil of this government is so bad that it causes good people to do bad things because they all they can see around them is darkness and evil. But hold on my friend because a new day is about to come and this evil administration will soon be voted out, pushed out, or kicked out.

Like them you do not have a clue about the Legislature or the Executive part of Government or for that matter the Judiciary . You all (uwp miss leaders) know nothing about public administration. The so called ministry they said they are transferring you is only a ministry in name, consider it a shell ministry created by Roosevelt to accommodate the turn coat UWP sucker who cannot even run a bread shop!
When a man operate a bakery that fail, tells you how incompetent is he.
The man cold have made lots of tasteful pastries, and other bakery products, that could have kept him in business; but he is so shallow and a looser he ran and stab UWP in the back kissing up to Roosevelt.
By the time election come, he will go into oblivion with his ministry, you will not have a job unless you are appointed!
