Efforts continue to raise funds to fly three-year old Arrie Kamaya Phillip, overseas for much-needed medical attention.
Arrie was admitted at Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) on June 12th, 2019 after being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
According to a Facebook post by Arrie’s father, Darry Phillip, 16,000 Euro (about EC$49,000) is needed for the first 10 days of her treatment.
“Arrangements have been made to send her to Martinique for medical treatment/attention but she is in need of financial assistance which is 16000 euro for the first ten days of treatment. NOTE: THIS IS NOT THE FINAL COSTING. I am asking the general public for their assistance,” Phillip writes.
In an interview on Q95FM on Thursday morning, Phillip confirmed that preparations are being made to send hsi daughter to Martinique by this weekend or early next week to receive further medical assistance.
In a radiothon held this morning on Q95, about $25,000.00 was pledged toward the cause and Val Ferry has announced that all tickets needed for Arrie and her family to travel to and from Martinique will be provided to them free of cost.
Phillip said he is heartbroken and thanks everyone in advance who is willing to help his daughter.
Below is a GoFundMe page and a National Bank of Dominica (NBD) account number to assist Arrie in receiving the medical treatment that she needs.

We all hope for a positive outcome for this little princess my heart goes out to the family who are in this difficult time.
Check the pm my boy u will get immediate help.
Let’s all contribute in good faith
My heart bleeds for this child. I hope she somehow makes a recovery. I must chide our government for the lack of medical services in our country. Why boast of free medical services for the young and elderly when they are not available. I know we can not do everything but can the government not set up a congenital fund or a national insurance policy for cases like this.
There seems to be plenty of money for electioneering but we have to beg the public for donations so a child like this may live?
That does hurt and embarrass me. I pray that God saves your life little Arrie.
Wow sooo sorry to hear that news and I hope that her problem will be resolved. Imagine at such a tender age so much can happen to the body and that is the least expected
Health issues are often tough on the family emotionally and financially. I sincerely hope this little princess will get the requisite treatment and be completely cured. The next government should work on National Insurance for ll its citizens. It’s expensive but badly needed. We cannot continue to rely on the generosity of strangers for assistance. This is too risky. A caring government looks out for the best interest of its people no matter the level of difficulty. Best wishes little angel.
National health insurance is a govt responsibility? In which book? Dominica has no productive sectors, yet is hemorrhaging 100’s of millions a year in welfare(sewos and red clinic included) and college education (brain drain factory with no short or long term return). But its good because people like free things (a caring government). Keep up that mindset, Dominica will soon join Venezuela.
Private insurance is available, and its cheaper than most data plans. But these things weren’t on anyone’s menu 20 years ago, but choose the better investment. No doubt 90% don’t care about the future and only now.
Your comments certainly proved that you are not au fait with the term National Insurance and how it can be implemented. Your words show you up as a confused simpleton.
