The Rainbow Foundation, which was formed by some Dominicans based in Belgium, continued its contribution to education in Dominica with the award of two more scholarships to the Massacre primary school.

The scholarships were presented on Tuesday to Leilani Lesley, a grade three student at the school and Loic Simon, who excelled at the Grade Six National Assessment and will be starting secondary school in September.

Lesley received $300.00 to meet the cost of books and miscellaneous expenses for 2013/2014 and Simon was given $600.00 for the coverage of books, transportation and other miscellaneous expenses for the same period.

According to a release from the Foundation, each year, since 1998, it has made a financial contribution to the Massacre primary school “to assist in enhancing and enriching the environment in which the students of the Massacre School learn.”

Over the years, the Foundation has assisted in financing several projects at the school including paving of the school grounds,  putting a covering over the steps to the second level of the school building, building an incinerator for garbage disposal and covering the school’s green house, among others.

This year, the Foundation intends to assist, among other things, with the completion of a water trough, the installation of guttering at the front of the School and the feeding program at the school.

The Mahaut Senior Citizen’s Home also received a financial contribution from the Foundation on Tuesday.

The Rainbow Foundation is the brainchild of Dominicans Matthew St. Rose, his wife Lillian who live in Belgium. In addition to their own fund raising efforts, they receive contributions from other individuals and ‘partners’in Belgium.

i went to the Massacre/Canefield Primary School and i am now a proud graduate of the Dominica Grammar School 2013. I must say that at all my years at the Massacre Primary I remember the rainbow foundation always generously giving a helping hand to those in need. I do hope that they continue their efforts into bettering the education of students.

I do not wish to dampen your spirit. However, the color of the gays are “rainbow colors”.
Please correct me if I erred. I am wondering if this Rainbow Foundation originated from them in Belgium since, as it is said they received contributions from other individuals and ‘partners in Belgium’. Who are they? Please advise.

This week, the so-called pride parade took place in Toronto, on ‘Sunday’ afternoon at that. While I am not interested in it whatsoever, the rainbow color was mentioned. I do not view this news broadcast but heard it since I have ears to hear. At that time, I wanted to boycott the late news as customary but there was other news. I also wanted to switch off this news. However, I willfully did not view the TV with those scandalous pictures. I kept busy otherwise.
I have heard about their colors for sometime.
Sometime ago I noticed a demonstration of a Rainbow Cake on a recipe TV program. I had planned to contact the hostess of the program to enquire about it. Obviously the colors of the rainbow are beautiful and so is the cake. Among other recipes I saved it. However, knowing about this ‘rainbow color’, I do not think I will make it.
Is this not sad, our words are taken from us heterosexual people in the heterosexual world, gay, pride and now rainbow colors.” We no longer are able to use them and never will for obvious reasons. They want to take over the world and make every one gays and lesbians as themselves. This is their evil intention.
It is already broadcasted that next year the world pride day parade will be held in Toronto. This is around Canada Day celebration, Canada Day being July 1st which is a holiday. Oh my! I am considering where my family and I would like to visit at that time.
Next year, we do not know what will happen to us. I am certainly wishing that God will get rid of this abomination once and for all. He is patient. No doubt He wants us to fervently pray and be patient. One day it will happen, if not in our lifetime.

This is an excellent gesture on their part which, no doubt, the students welcomed in financially assisting them with school books purchases and for other expenses.

God bless Mr and Mrs Matthew St.Rose for their meaningful contribution to worthy cause. Wish others in good financial standing would follow.

I’m going to give you something but you must take my picture. Every gift is like a “Certified” Letter. You got to sign for it. Somebody once said, “don’t let your left hand know what your right hand do.” Oh! it’s written in the Bible? Thanks for the gift.

This is the custom all over the world. Words to that effect, Our Lord said, those who expect earthly exaltation, i.e., compliment have already received their reward. Including those who brag about it to every one.
Human nature could be full of pride. There are some people who perform good works (supposedly) and who want it to be known and to be recognized for it. They wallow in the recognition and status.
Generally, when we perform good works we should do so quietly and silently. I would think this pertains to assisting family or friends in need, also almsgiving to our church. These should be confidential.
On the other hand when giving in a case as this, it should be known lest the wrong people receive the funds and also never direct it to the intended purpose. In addition, the wrong person could receive compliments and recognition for it. For this reason, the donor(s) should be known including the purpose of the gift and the recipients.
