Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says the global economic crisis is still affecting Caribbean economies resulting in loss opportunities for investment and employment.
Addressing the annual convention of the ruling St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) on Sunday, Skerrit said that gasoline prices were also on the increase and contributing to the economic problems of the region.
“Here in the Caribbean, we are all feeling the pinch of the global energy crisis, and we are forever proposing and debating new ideas for minimizing its impact,” he said.
Mr PM all of you government politicians will pretend like you really care but we all know that your traveling expenses whether locally regionally or internationally is covered by the very same afflicted tax payers. When the price of gas rises it is no skin of your bone even when you guys drive those gas guzzling SUV’s all over the place.
Maybe you Mr PM should have let the people of St Kitts know that in this Global economic crisis Dominica is holding it’s own while St Kitts and other islands are struggling. In the interest of Eastern Caribbean unity give them some tips to help our sister islands during the global economic crisis. After all you told us that Dominica was doing great. Better yet why not encourage Kittisians to come find jobs in Dominica as there is a surplus of jobs in Dominica.
Mtr PM you talk about the Labor Party brand- what exactly is the Labor Party Brand ? I can only guess – Corruption ,lies , deception and the inveterate self serving liars
that is why you will stay how you is,ignorant.
“How you is” and you calling people ignorant. I am how I am because I knew from an early age that too many people like you anonymous is detrimental to the growth of Dominica. Sadly we still have too many people like anonymous with “moton battalie” type IQ
I prefer remain independent than to Sercombe to a life of dependence on politicians or to wait for a Red Clinic crumbs or election bribery.
” I like how I is” – Analyze that anonymous, you numb skull.
well SAID my friend
Right on!
Roosevelt Skerrit once again represents us well in the region. He was invited to address the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party’s convention and as usual his remarks were right on target.
Having read the full text of the speech PM Skerrit delivered at the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party convention, I can say it was another outstanding effort and a great representation of Dominica on the regional stage.
Our PM’s understanding of the global economic situation and its effects on regional development is recognized across the region. However, what makes him so popular, not just at home but throughout the region, is his affinity and understanding of the common people. He is a caring and dedicated leader and he always has the needs of the citizens of Dominica foremost in all his thoughts and action.
God bless Roosevelt Skerrit, and God bless the Commonwealth of Dominica!
Lie that hahahahahahahahahahaha
Which DA and region do you habit AH? Dr.Benjamin is awaiting you for consultation for hallucination both auditory and visual.
You see that medical marijuana thing messing up reality to you gullible, psychotic individuals in DA like wise the rest of the region.Kittsian could not be more correct and have said it better.
The good doc should write his next medical column on ideation of health ministers who are accountants by training and all the ballony that crosses their minds like cruising up the roseau river and all that weird stuff, being unable to visualize self with one leg hand half of one or the absence of both, blind, dumb etc .Tim Tim I often wonder!!!!
You sound like Saddam’s propagandist- yap pitty yap,yap pitty yap,.
It does not take an imbecile to understand the world economic crunch. What you did not realize is that the PM is yet to present an action plan or to indicate the measures implemented by his administration to counter the economic woes. Instead all we heard is excuses and that government need space to operate. Let it be known that space was granted and all we had was mass misconduct – corruption , lies and cover up.
What do we have to show – high unemployment; Cruise Ship withdrawal; the obliteration of agriculture; the rapid failure and closing of local businesses; the list goes on.
Let us not forget that the very same PM told us that we were doing good in the face of global economic recession now he is making excuses. The people of St Kitts don’t even need someone who is trained in economics or finance to tell them that the global wallet is tighter – Even them Paros on the street can tell them that.
If you are dubbing the PM a economic guru just because off the excuses then it tells me that you are one of those ignorant donkeys in Dominica.
good commentry from another supository, oops i meant supporter
I feel sorry for Truth Be Told he sound like a recycling machine he is just crushing stuff whether it be junk or not. The guy does not even understand what he reads
Hahahahaha, if you believe the speech was a brilliant one, why then are you praising the reader, ie skerritt rather than the speech writer(heartless henry).
@ Truth B told. There are so many people like you and your ilk who speak untruths/lies and really think is the truth. Truth never comes from a lying tongue. You forget already, that Skerritt is the only illegal leader in the entire region due to his disregard for the Constitution and the Laws of Dominica re. dual citizenship? Skerritt is the only Leader in the region mired in so many controversial actions, Dual citizenship case, ownership of Villas, Trafalgar secret land deals, ‘Corruption Clinic’ and lack of Transparency, role of Minister and Ministry of Finance in Rubbish Bin and Fertlizer Bobols, refusal to give the $$$$$ for Electoral Reform, duty free concessions for ………. and others too numerous to mention. Don’t you have a Conscience?
I am here watching b-ball and the ad came on Pirates of the Caribbean the new release.
It said the best Pirates ever lol! Do they mean the Labour parties of the region? The best Pirates? Which group is best? St.vincent’s Dominica’s or St.Kitts’s? I think DA can pull off 1,2 & 3rd prize and all the consolation prizes. because them guys good they make Bird and UWP look like joke. But they have the mastermind or should i say the megamind who skipped party with his lawyer buddy.
Skerrit needs to stay home and mind his own store which is sinking due to the frivalous spending spree that the govt. is on with mindless projects, while the population suffers.
Dat pm doe hve work to do,he don’t care bout the people he serve, just the riches he obtain,
I have never understood why people allow foreign politicians to put their nose into another country’s affairs. Is this a Caribbean phenomenon I wonder?
