Caribbean urged to prepare for high fuel and food prices

Barbados Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Minister, Maxine Mc Lean Thursday warned Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries to be prepared for rising fuel and food prices.

Addressing the start of the two-day CARICOM Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) meeting here, Mc Lean, who is chairing the deliberations, said that while the COTED might devise some measures that provide short-term relief, the real challenge is to put in place medium to long term solutions”.

    Lower all the import charges to the common people so that we can stock up. Transfer the loss in revenue to imports of the privileges ones that get to bring in merchandise for next to nothing.

    i said before that fuel gonna be $20 for a six month period…….i was brushed aside ….we will see
