CARICOM has congratulated the Government and People of St. Vincent and the Grenadines as they celebrate the country’s 36th Independence Anniversary today 27 October 2015.

The Theme “Working Together to enhance National Pride” is quite fitting, CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque said in his congratulatory message to St. Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Ralph Gonsalves. He said the people have much to be proud of, as the country has moved steadfastly along the development path over its 36 years of nationhood.

The SG also commended St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ unwavering commitment to CARICOM Regional Integration and extended best wishes for continued progress and sustainable development of the country.

“On behalf of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), I extend warmest congratulations to you and the People of St. Vincent and the Grenadines on the occasion of your country’s Thirty-Sixth Anniversary of Independence.

The theme, “Working Together to enhance National Pride” is quite fitting. There is much for the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to be proud of over thirty-six years of nationhood, as the country has moved steadfastly along the path to development with unyielding determination.

One of the significant aspects of an independent St. Vincent and the Grenadines has been its unwavering commitment to CARICOM regional integration and active participation in the Organs and Institutions of the Community.

CARICOM joins the Government and People of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in celebrating this Thirty-Sixth Anniversary of Independence and extends best wishes for the continued progress and sustainable development of the country.”
