CASTRIES, St. Lucia, Monday August 8, 2011 – There was some initial alarm, but no damage or injuries, following a moderate earthquake that occurred east of St. Lucia yesterday and was reportedly felt in at least two other Caribbean islands.
The University of the West Indies Seismic Research Unit in Trinidad had initially measured the quake at a magnitude of 5.3 but the US Geological Service put it at 5.0.
that was no earthquake …that was the people looking for oil and to do so they have to blast deep into the earth…people wake up
what do we expect when we keep drainin oil from the earth….where and what is the relacement fluid or fuel..the earth will continue to shake even more….we are killin the planet…removin oil from the earth is like removin blood from some1….
There is a Google App for this to track this earthquake. At 1:16 AM this morning there was a 4.4 Earthquake just outside Dominica.
i definitely felt that…….it woke me from my sleep
yeah i felt it at 1:20 am this morning hard enuff to rock my bed and wake me from my sleep. We must pray for the lord to keep us safe at all times.
I felt a tremor on August Monday between 3 too 5:30 in Grandbay… so we all must pray for Gods mercy towards us..
A 5.0 earthquake is bad enough. It is a cause for alarm. Thank God St. Lucians and other Caribbean areas were spared from a worst one.
I experienced this in Toronto in June 2010. It was the worst one which I experienced in Toronto. It was scary and made me nervous. Thank God no buildings collapsed in Toronto and there were no injuries but this could easily have happened what with buildings and houses swaying, even fridges, stoves, beds shaking, office desks and chairs and other swaying and shaking as everyone reported.
It is surprising that Toronto which has approximately 9 months of winter would have earthquakes; no exception in certain parts of the U.S. which has winter.
The earthquake originated in Quebec, east of Toronto, over 500 miles away from Toronto. It traveled to other parts of Ontario and to the U.S.
Quebec experiences a colder winter than Toronto. There is a certain part of Montreal which is an earthquake zone.
I am convinced that the area where I reside is an earthquake zone and this is cause for concern. Earthquakes travel through a path of certain zones.
It shows that all countries are prone to such. I pray that we do not have a worst one. Let us pray for God’s protection.
Whoever you are who gave thumbs down appear to lack basic common sense, knowledge and intelligence.
Envious?
Why is it that some of you who read the sensible and educating comments will give thumbs down. You are showing yourselves to be. Cease doing so and wasting your God-given precious allotted time in futility. Appreciate and give people credit for their effort, experience and expertise. If you do not possess these godly, loving and humane virtues pray to God for them. If you pray with a loving and humble heart He will surely grant them to you.
That’s not good at all. Too close for comfort. Just happy to know that no damage or injuries reported. Let’s keep our ears to the ground and pray for protection from God our father.
