A Nigerian doctor who has not been to Africa for the past five years, caused a major scare at the Piarco International Airport after he arrived on a British Airways flight from London on Thursday.
The aircraft and passengers were isolated after the doctor had been flagged as having contracted the deadly Ebola virus that spreads through mucous and other body fluids or secretions such as stool, urine, saliva and semen of infected people.
The British Airways flight BA 2159 originated in London Gatwick, then went on to St Lucia before landing in Trinidad just before 4.00 pm (local time).
Most of you see this as an issue against Africa. While it might be stereotyping, I would rather question why was he put on a flight if they felt he had ebola? He should have been checked out in London. Trinidad and the Caribbean needs to speak up about this. Why should the man be put on a plane among other people for 8 hours? Looks like London had a plan to get this to spread in the Caribbean.
Is Dominica ready for such a crisis? What happens on the return from summer vacation from the African students studying at the medical university here? How prepared are we to deal with such a situation?
…And WE Africans once again have to bear the burden of the West propaganda machines. Africa was untouched until these fools came to “save” us, now we have aids, ebola and Jesus. The propaganda continues and the monsters are, in the mean time, ravaging the earth’s population by culling third world inhabitants…it will never stop until ALL common people UNITE! Stupes man! leave us the heck alone!
Oh shut up
Hmm… talk about profiling.
sounds like those people don’t even know what the Ebola virus is about. That reminds me of the AIDS hysteria a few years ago where it was believed that all gay men had the virus.
Great. More reasons to discriminate against Africans
