ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, February 12, 2010 – The continued presence of airborne ash clouds over Dominica and Guadeloupe has forced LIAT to suspend all remaining flights to both destinations for Friday, February 12.

The affected flights are LI 364 from Barbados to Dominica; LI 557 and LI 563 from Antigua to Dominica and LI 558 from Dominica to Guadeloupe and Antigua.

LIAT continues to assess the situation and will provide further updates as necessary.

At such a time like this it is very unforunate to have this happen because during carnival tourism is up plus people in the diaspora usually visit home. I hope that the air will clear fast enough to have things resumed to normalcy. To all those participating, stay safe and keep the peace. One Love.

Understandably so, LIAT’s decision not to fly will leave a lot of passengers irate and stranded, but safety must be the #1 priority. Unfortunately, this is carnival time and the decision will certainly result in a huge loss for the respective islands, but God’s timing is never wrong.

I concur …… leave the butchering to the trained professionals …….. And do all your gardening before leaving home. Remember, show some love and respect to your brothers and sisters, while having a safe, festive, and enjoyable carnival.

i hope daddy chess can make it back tomorrow in time for the finals….
how ironic would it be if this prevented him from getting back here and
he has a song about liat?

anyway all my dominican people i would like to wish you all a very happy carnival
and please let us try to curb the violence…..there is no need to go in the band with
a knife(leave the butchering for trained professionals
