CHARLESTOWN, Nevis, CMC – The main opposition Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) says it refuses to accept the results of the Nevis Islands Administration (NIA) where the incumbent Nevis Reformation Party (NRF) won three of the five seats contested.

“Our view is that the NRP has not won the elections at all, we have as we speak countless voters who have presented themselves and are swearing to affidavits to say that they were denied their rights to vote…we have not conceded (defeat),” Opposition Leader Mark Brantley told the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC).

Preliminary results show that the NRP won Monday’s election in a replay of the 2006 poll when it won three seats in the eight member NIA.

WE neeed to change the name of “Opposition” since the name appareently makes them feel that they have to oppose everything. We probably need to call them “Helpers in moving the country forward’ and probably they will do just that! LOL

Most people who comment here have no idea of what took place why the outcome was not accepted.

They had 175 people removed from the the voters list in that constuency without the knowledge of the voters who had their votes id cards. All of these people were supporters of the opposition. People born in nevis were denied their rights to vote and people born in st kitts were broght in to vote

Some areas had an increase of voters by 800% with people imported from st kitts to vote in that area.

This level of voter currption cannot be allowed in the caribbean

No one minds losing fair and square but no one likes losing if they are aware that they might have been cheated out of winning.

Is this a trend? No one wants to concede defeat…it’s always a election fraud here, voter ID card issue there; erroneous voters list here. Swore losers that what they are. I’m fed up of that nonsense.
