People are mixing 2 things : blockade and embargo ;it is not the same thing

There is no US blockade with Cuba, but there is an embargo ; and with the US only ; which means that Cubans can import whatever they want from other countries, from Venezuela for instance ( their good friend and dictator Chavez should be able to help ! )

Still , the embargo is no longer strict ; since 10 years now, food and medication export to Cuba is allowed ; same thing for money transfer.

I recall that Obama is ready to lift up the embargo, as soon as tomorow, if Cuba accepts to end the Castro dictatorship ( 52 years in power !!! ) and establish democracy ; i.e :

    – free elections ( with international observers )
    – free opposants from Castro jails ; respect human rights
    – free speech and freedom for everybody

    And that’s it !

Yes, the rest of the world is waking up and seeing the US for the hypocrites that they are. How can a government justify a 50 year blockade on a small island nation that poses no military threat in the name of punishing cubas communism and human rights violations while at the same time being in debt and having the largest trade deficit to another communist nation who could be a military threat with an atrocious human rights record WAKE UP PEOPLE

The United States of America has always been an arrogant nation. First and foremost, the founding fathers said that they believed “all men were created equal” but for over 200 years, that did not apply to black people (the slaves) who were considered 3/5 of a human being. Their segregation and racism still has serious implications for today’s generations of black people.

Their inequality is now propagated through their imperialist system of trickle down economics and monopoly capitalism. with their churches and universities, they continue to deceive us and make us fight one another, even to the extent of blaming ourselves, the victims.

They will not recognize the UN vote against them. In fact, they vow to destroy the UN. They only recognize the International Court of Justice (ICJ) when its rulings favour them but do not recognize rulings slanted against them. They seek immunity for their soldiers even when they commit atrocities in other countries. They want other nations to extradite their citizens to face justice in the US but they refuse to extradite their own and even Cuban terrorists who murder Cubans.

President Obama is up against institutionalized injustice and inequality. If he pushes too hard he can be impeached by his right wing congress. The United States of America will uphold corruption, inequality and injustice to protect monopoly capitalism. American Christians and their supporters in Dominica will wage war and place embargoes on fellow Christians around the world. They do not represent God because God is LOVE; unconditional love.

According to the US it’s a bi-lateral issue… they claim Cuba committed economic atrocities against them in its 1960/61 nationalization drive and so their investors lost millions. There’s no resolution, The US has taken a vindictive stand and won’t ever back down… It’s a war on Cuba’s economy to force a collapse of the Castro’s Socialist regime… Just like the intentions of the Torricelli law and the Helms- Burton act.
As I see it the resolution is just a formality, no fruit is expected to bear from that.
The question is how those Countries who voted against the resolution can combine to assist Cuba economically… 186 strong is certainly a force to be reckoned with.
On another perspective… can’t Cuba adapt to what they cannot change? Or are they looking for excuses for the inefficiencies/ failures of Socialism… just what the USSR admitted to some 20 years ago.

Cuba has done everything possible to deal with the embargo. That explains the success in medicine, primary health care, science, education, agriculture, tourism and other areas.

And seriously, let’s be real. We who live in countries that trade freely are suffering, so what more do we really expect from Cuba? In fact, hats off to Cuba.

Let’s be fair. This embargo is nothing but genocide. Like the U.S. is right to wage war on Iraq and Afghanistan because of 911? An eye for and eye, a tooth for a tooth, but this is more like two legs and an arm for a tooth.

And as for Russia, U.S etc.,.. whatever… history is showing that these big countries lie in bed with whomever they will, whenever convenient.

It’s all about gaining control of the world’s natural resources and if it means provoking civil unrest to have you assassinated that’s what it’ll be. In the meantime, the person who’s coming for the oil and gold reserves their hands stay clean. Too bad right now the offspring of a negro is at the helm.

Come on Mr. Obama, The whole world is against your country’s stance. How about democratic rule in world’s affairs? Are you really going to ignore the overwhelming majority? I truly hope not. I am not a supporter of the communist system but keeping that blockade in place surely only helps to prolong it.Remember, you are not only the Presiden of the U.S.A. but also a world icon to whom many look for their guidance.

Man, I shaking my head about Obama.

The last time this guy was black was when he took the oath of office. Many people around the globe are shocked and surprised at how mister turned out.

In his aim to be considered one of the boys, he continued with all the status quo.

I done lost all respect for this guy…

Very good, what happens next? Secondly, any sound individual knows that US and Isra hell are agents of evil.

What is the logic in the 21st century for this blockade on Cuba? Communism has died, why impose this embargo on millions of women and children? Why is it that the US and Isra hell think they can bully people across the globe?

I pray the people of Dominica wake up. What about the Palestinian issue? We hope this straightens out as well in sha Allah.
