KINGSTOWN, St Vincent, CMC – Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves is threatening legal action against a local radio station and two talk show hosts for statements relating to monies deposited at a state-owned bank.
Gonsalves, speaking on a local radio programme here on Tuesday night, said that he would take legal action against the two radio talk show hosts as well as the radio station which airs two advertisements sponsored by the main opposition New Democratic Party (NDP).
He is promising also to sue “those who prepared the ad”, noting “every time the ad is played it is a defamation”.
I have never known a Head of state that has sued more people than Gonsalves. If Obama sued everyone that said he was Muslim or not a US citizen he would have no time to govern. STOP MAJORING IN MINORS PM. Rather, spend your efforts helping the unfortunate citizens that are trying to survive in the terrible economy you have created. A billion dollar airport…unbelievable.
was wondering if he and skerrit are still bodys? never heard him congratulate skerrit after the december 18 polebird
The common denominator is red.
Are those the same guys who came to Dominica and gave Ron the 20 pledges and no manifesto? Well they working the Caribbean opposition leaders. Thats some serious british politics.
That should be an interesting case.
I always feel uneasy when the media and media houses are taken to court because I depend on the media for credible information.
The media is an integral part of any democracy but the media must also realize it is not above the law. in order to remain credible media practitioners should make sure all sides of a story is covered and explored before going public. No stones should be left unturned.
To many media practitioners and talk show hosts think that they have a divine right to express their opinions as they please while forgetting that although everyone has the right to express their opinions, they of all people should know that opinion should be based on facts.
I will be following this case very closely, to say the least.
RALPHIE,
Seems like you taught skerrit well….
