Toronto Councillor Joe Mihevc says the city’s Caribbean Carnival is safe despite violence that left one person dead and several others wounded. “This is a very safe event,” said Mihevc, Councillor for St. Paul’s (Ward 21), the city council liaison to the carnival, formerly known as CARIBANA..
He said a detailed security review of the festival is done each year and that security includes on-duty Toronto Police officers as well as five different private security firms. He said the Carnival bands also have their own security.
“This is a strongly policed event for obvious reasons. It’s a very important event, and we want to keep it safe and secure,” Mihev told reporters here.
So with the mind set of so many ignorant ppl who chose to back the island. Should the civilized ppl living in Canada move? because this happened? Only a fool would think like this. Wy would you rate the entire county out of the action of a few stupid ppl
I hope the carnival committee is take note. And the police force is getting ready for the Creole festival.
