TRINIDAD – President Anthony Carmona paid a surprise visit to the family of identical teenage twins Khertima and Khadijah Taylor, who were killed in an accident while returning home from a birthday bash early yesterday.

The twins and their friend, Kafiya Gill, were killed when the car in which they were travelling crashed between the pillars of a bridge at the Cross Crossing Interchange in San Fernando. They were among four people killed in two road accidents yesterday.

So countries have speed limits. TnT is 80KM/H yet they import/company manufacture vehicles with speed up to 240km/H . It does not add up.

I had to block the hurt and stay calm.

It takes me also to the three little pigs and America houses of sticks. They get blown over and and they rebuild in sticks again.

May their souls rest in peace.

Very very sad! but what can i say? young people, young people, oh my God! teenagers coming home from a party in the early morning? should be home by 11:pm! I raised young children of my own, and i put my foot down hard many times in order to keep them safe. They could huff and puff, when i say no is NO! Nowadays parents are the children, and children are the parents. Now, who’s in sorrow? the parents. What a waste of life. Young people today won’t take a pic without a glass in hand. What a generation.

Doesn’t matter if you put your foot down or not, kids can get drunk by 11pm also, it was a terrible accident that can happen to anyone, and they were 18 so pretty much didn’t need to adhere to a curfew, let’s not point fingers if we not have all the facts of what happened.

It is a sad situation.I am also reminded of a 19th century hymn, which goes like this.

Life at best is very brief,
like the falling of a leaf.
Like the binding of a sheaf,
    Be in time.
    Fleeting days are telling fast
That the die will soon be cast,
And the fatal line be passed,
    Be in time.

    Fairest flowers soon decay,
    Youth and beauty pass away.
Oh,you have no long to stay,
    Be in time.
While God’s Spirit bids you come,
    Sinner,do no longer roam,
Less you seal your hopeless doom,
    Be in time.

Be in time, Be in time.
While the voice of Jesus calls you,
    Be in time.
If in sin you longer wait,
You may find no open gate.
And your cry be just too late.
    Be in time.

This is for those of us who are living.
    BE IN TIME.

Do you know this ancient Catholic one, taken from a small book, “My Ticket To Heaven?”

Life is short and death is sure,
The hour of death remains obscure.
A soul you have, the only one,
If that be lost all hope is gone.
Waste not time, while time shall last,
For after death ’tis ever past.
All-seeing God your Judge will be,
And Heaven or Hell your destiny.
      All earthly things will pass away;
      Eternity…alone will stay.

This is for each and everyone of us with no exception.

It is extremely shocking and sad that these young and promising lives are gone. They had such a bright future ahead for them. I can visualize the inconsolable grief of especially their family at this time and months, if not years. I feel their pain. May God console them.
May the souls of the young people rest in peace. Amen!

T& T has good, wide roads. Who knows? Excess liquor and speeding may have been a factor in this terrible accident. The T & T police will have to determine that. Drivers are always warned to drive cautiously. There are some who continue to be negligent and who cause accidents. They are confident and think that it will never happen to them. Little do they know.
Dominican drivers continue to take note for Dominica has had some terrible accidents which have caused injuries and loss of lives. I am not referring to those that were caused recently due to heavy rain and the road splitting in two. I am referring to those under normal circumstances, some on dry roads.
Practice road regulations and courtesy! Take care! Drive cautiously! Slow down and when turning at curves and winding roads proceed cautiously!
Lives lost can never be regained. Consider too that injuries could cause permanent impairment. I care! God bless you and protect you!

This is really sad. They are so young – born together and died together. I can only pray for great grace for the family, especially a mother who has to bury two children at the same time. Father God, only you can give that woman the strength and grace she requires to move on with her life. Strengthen her heart father God and may she be comforted, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

I wonder whether the Dominican government planned this? Perhaps Dominica was not maintaining the roads over there as they should have, or they did not put up adequate road signs or something. As usual its Skerrit’s fault. He is responsible for everything that goes wrong. Oh, perhaps it is the fault of the Catholic Church.

Wisecracking aside, to lose two such beautiful girls in one stroke must be heart wrenching for their loved ones.

May God stretch out his supporting and healing hands on all the aching hearts this accident has caused.

Am embarrassed, for you and how stupid and ignorant you come across in your writing, wow. Especially in regards to the situation on hand, cant some of you just show sympathy without adding any negativity to it. I pray that you or anyone you no never have to go through this.

    • June 10, 2013

It’s post like yours DNO should not put on here. It’s either you are stupid or your brain cells are so dried up you have to come here and post this nonsense. First of all the accident happened in Trinidad . Secondly, if you have nothing positive to say…just try reading and not say anything at all. Or, better yet….just pay the family sincere condolences.
