ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, July 27, 2011 – LIAT wishes to advise that its employees in Grenada are continuing industrial action in the form of a “go slow” which is negatively impacting the airline’s services to/from the Maurice Bishop International Airport and the rest of the LIAT network.
As a result of the industrial action the following flights to/from Grenada have been cancelled for today – Wednesday, July 27, 2011.
LI 761/760
LI 727
LI 726
Flights LI 787 and LI 372 will operate into Grenada this evening as scheduled.
Customers affected by the disruptions who wish to rebook for a later date will be allowed to do so without charge for a period of one week from the date of their scheduled travel. Following the one-week grace period, passengers will be required to pay applicable fare and change fees when re-booking.
LIAT sincerely apologises to affected passengers for any inconvenience caused as a result of the action by its Grenada employees.
And in what way is a strike by the EMPLOYEES
supposed to get LIAT to “… take a closer look in the interest of its PASSENGERS…”
It has to start somewhere. its just a pity that some passengers will be affected by this action, but its time that LIAT take a closer look in the interest of its passengers, with their ever so hiked up fares on travel within the Caribbean. Something must be done, and if this is one way of causing them to change then more will follow.
