Haiti’s President Jovenel Moïse has been killed in an attack on his home in the nation’s capital, according to the country’s interim prime minister CNN reports. Following the assassination Haitian Prime Minister Claude Joseph has declared a “state of siege” .

Under Haitian law, there are three levels of emergency, starting with a “state of emergency,” followed by a “state of siege”, and finally the highest level of emergency, which is a “state of war.”

Claude Joseph said the president’s residence in Port-au-Prince was stormed by unidentified armed men at 01:00 local time, (05:00 GMT) the BBC has reported.

Mr Joseph stated that “all measures had been taken to guarantee the continuance of the state”.

Jovenel Moïse, 53, had been in power since February 2017, after his predecessor, Michel Martelly stepped down.

The First Lady was also injured in the attack. There has since been several international reports of her subsequent death due to her injuries – those claims have been debunked by the Dominican Embassy in Haiti and Haitian authorities.

Politicians must know when they are no longer needed and LEAVE. They should not force themselves on their people. So many months now the people have been demonstrating and calling for his resignation. Just LEAVE….Such a senseless death!!!

This is unfortunate….life is important and no man had a right to take the life of another. This death is food for thought…this Prime Minister had his full force of security and all the necessary accessories…..the question is WHAT WENT WRONG…..

Man to man is so unjust ….you doh know who to trust.

So the best thing is be good to your nation….be fair….and allow all to eat and survive comfortably. No begging….no some get and some do not. Lesson’s learnt. …….

Black leaders, your populations are fed up of you selling out to European, Chinese and non black interests… Fed up of poverty policies… fed up of you thieving local resources to enrich yourself while locals stay poor…

You are sowing the seeds of vigilantes…

But my boy what nonsense is that. Haiti has been a black independent republic for more than two hundred years now. You forget Papa Doc and Baby Doc then, living a live of luxury in white man’s country. Be honest Haiti is a nightmare for themselves and everybody else.

It’s all done by outside forces. When papa & baby idiots were there they were placed and supported in full by both France and America. Just like in Africa it’s carefully designed to look like the people are bad and they all are f’**ked up.

The loss of a human life in an unnatural manner is always sad. Profound sympathy to the immediate family of President Morse and the people of Haiti.

I hope one day soon Haitians will be able to unite and get a leader and a government that will bring about a revolutionary change for the betterment of all Haitians.

That’s how a ‘Real Country’ deals with corrupt and incompetent politician that attempts to overstay his welcome. These people might be very poor but they don’t suffer this kind of behaviour.

Could not have said it better! That’s how you deal with criminals in office who feel entitled and therefore see the people as their servants instead of the other way around. Tik tok, Tik toc….

Good for him, perhaps his successor will not claim to be entitled and insensitive to the history of this majestic people; even though they are all planted there by the U.S historically. ID10T.
He had ample time to pack his isht and leave instead of seeing every building full of holes. Stop it!
