Vincentian students, currently studying in Venezuela, have been offered a one-way plane ticket by the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, for the upcoming summer break.

According to information reaching WEFM, Tuesday evening, a bulletin was sent to all Vincentian students in Venezuela on Tuesday afternoon, from the Vincentian Ambassador in Venezuela – Yvette Barnwell-Wickham.

The bulletin read “given the current environment in Venezuela, the Government has made a decision to provide a one-way ticket to those who were planning to remain in Venezuela over the July-August vacation, in order to provide some relief, as well as convene a meeting with all student(s), parents and authorities on the way forward.”

The bulletin urged the students to “please indicate whether or not” they “have already made travel arrangement to go to SVG for the July-August vacation”.

That’s something else. Everybody knows what’s happening in Venezuela. Dominican students have been given to Mets to come back k home to continue studying elsewhere. The gov will swallow their pride and not say to the public what’s going on. Just look around people, have you observed the return of students? And why are some being enrolled elsewhere to finish study? Let the people know what happening

Well, here’s a leader looking out for his citizens. It shames me to say can’t say the same thing for my pm. But we got what we voted for, so let me go back to my corner and suck my salt in peace.

Although i’ve come to dislike Gonzalves’ dirty politics, cause he’s a man i admired speaking and listening to.But he is mature and responsible, old schooled, standing for certain principles. When it comes to politics, this man is astute, this man has ideology.Scarit is no match to Gonzalves, scarit does not have an ideology, once there’s money dangling in his face,he’ll jump for it without any thought.Scarit and Gonzalves is like chalk and cheese.

What is the government of Supremo doing to their students down there?

    • Titiwi
      May 25, 2016

They have already declared their solidarity with Maduro. Making emergency arrangements for our students to come home now would be an admission that, despite all the rethoric, all is not well in comrade Maduro’s workers’ paradise.

That would be such an irresponsible move by the government endangering the lives of your citizens in order save face with Maduro. I would recommend the government provide whatever daily staples they are able to extend to the people of Venezuela as well as removing any of our citizens who might be in harms way.

That is one thing I must say about comrade Ralph. He may present himself as an avowed socialist but he is also a realist and pragmatic and does not let blind dogma rule all his actions.
