Hundreds of Catholics from around Dominica converged on the Windsor Park Stadium on Sunday to celebrate the Feast of Christ the King.

The feast marks the ceremonial closing of the universal Catholic Church’s “Year of Faith” which was inaugurated by Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI.

The event had special meaning to Catholics in Dominica since it marked the closing of the second year of the Diocese of Roseau Synod Implementation, which went under the theme “Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ.”

The Synod Implementation now goes into its third year with the theme “Go and make disciples.”

The Synod itself involves the clergy, religious and laity in all aspects of the local church’s life.

The event began with a procession from the Cruise Ship Berth to the stadium where a festival of praise was held, followed by morning prayer.

Feature address for the morning session was presented by Apostolic Nuncio (the Vatican’s ambassador to the Caribbean) Archbishop, Nicola Girasoli.

The Eucharistic celebration in the afternoon was attended by the President of Dominica, Charles Savarin, and various government ministers. It included cultural dances and a procession by the clergy.

See photos below of the event.

I certainly wished I were in Dominica to attend this grand, holy celebration. God blest the day which was a beautiful, bright, sunny one.

Christ The King, The Church – Traditional Hymns

To Christ the Prince of Peace
And Son of God most high,
The Father of the world to come,
    Sing we with holy joy…

    Bid us, O tender Mother,
    This act of Faith to sing;
‘Tis Christ must reign, for He’s our Father,
‘Tis Christ must reign, for He’s our King.

Yea, Christ must reign in ev’ry dwelling,
In parents’ soul, in children’s heart,
That spotless life may shine there ever,
And never more from it depart…

Pope Francis said in one of his Homilies, “Catholics should leave their comfort zones and be evangelizers.”

In these times it is necessary. We could do this in many ways and as we interact with others wherever we may be. We do not have to stand on the street to do so.
Also right on DNO when the opportunity presents itself.
St. Paul said, “Whatever we do, do it with love.”

I hope one day all the religious institutions will come together for the best interest of the country, in particular the youth.

I believe that will happen only after one has developed Spiritual integrity. Only then, I hope, that attack on religion against other religions will begin to come to end; everyone benefits and there is less confusion in the journey towards God.

After what we have seen in DA from priests to pastors falling from grace: He who is without sin, Let him/her cast the first stone.

If your hope is about “religion” that hope in you can never be fulfilled because “religion” is not of God–it is of the world. In fact religion is the primary reason for the calamities of this world today

Christianity is still falling apart, because the people of that faith are planted on the base of “religion” “they are worshipping the Living God in vain and teaching as “doctrines” the commandments of men–which are not the Ways of Love, but the ways of Love are the “attitude and conducts of God Almighty” who lives in His Person of Love–the Man of the Spirit who is Jesus Christ.

Christianity is not a religion; Christianity is based on an “Intimate Love” relationship with Jesus Christ. The theme of this celebration which says “Ignorance of the Scripture is ignorance of Christ” is a profound theme. But are those words put into practice?

A Christian is a person who has fallen in Love with Jesus, as he or she will become rooted and grounded in His Love to know the fullness of God Almighty, whom Jesus call Father.

Hence Jesus says: Behold I stand at the door and knock if anyone hears my voice and listens to Me, I will come in and eat with him and him with Me. Revelation 3:20

A Christian is a disciple of Jesus Christ–Acts 11: 26, not someone who follows all the rules and regulations of “Social Group” who is without the teachings, guidance, and protection of Holy Spirit–which he and she claim to be their Church.

Religion does good works not God’s work, for there are many good works that is done without Love–this means without the supervision of God–He has turned His back on those kinds of work.

A Christian is someone whose mind is in the process of renewal, the channel by which God is remaking that person–that process is called transformation and recondition –to be found in with Mind of Love –the state of mind which will know what is the good, acceptable and perfect will of God, and will demonstrate the perfect works of Love–to His glory. Praise Him our Lord God in Jesus Christ.

“reconciliation” not “recondition” as it is above.
