St. Luke’s Primary School celebrates two important milestones (with photo gallery)

The St Luke’s Primary School this week celebrated two significant milestones, the 100th anniversary of ministry of the ICM Sisters in the Diocese of Roseau and 100th Anniversary of the establishment of the school as a Catholic institution.

The ICM Sisters are a group of nuns who started the school 100 years ago.

“Today’s celebration represents a century of unwavering and dedicated service of the ICM sisters to the people of Dominica,”  Metropolitan Archbishop of Castries, Gabriel Malzaire, said during a special church service held at the Cathedral in Roseau this week.

According to him, from the opening of its doors in January of 1923 the ICM sisters gave approximately 60 years of service through St Luke’s Primary School.

Bishop Malzaire explained that statistics showed that from the year of the establishment of the school to the departure of the sisters, a total of 57 ICM sisters taught at the institution, 12 of whom served as either principal or acting principal.

“The ICM sisters have also been involved in various ministries at the parish levels,” he stated. “They have assisted on both parish and Diocese levels.”

St Luke’s Primary School is not the only education institution that benefited from the contributions of the ICM Sisters, the Bishop pointed out. He said the Convent High School, St John’s Primary in Portsmouth, the Social Centre, Grotto Home for the Homeless among others, also benefited.

Meantime, Bishop Malzaire revealed that one of the signature achievements of the ICM Sisters  of which the entire Dominican population is very proud, is the founding of the Credit Union movement in Dominica.”

“Therefore, today serves as an appropriate occasion to say thanks,” he said.

President of Dominica, His Excellency Charles Savarin and Mrs. Savarin, were also present at the church service.

These guy sitting there and useing poor people children as slaves carrying baskets of food on their heads bringing food to the masa , pure slavery mentality. This is 2022 not 1822. Masa going and choose the best for he and his friends, and the rest is for the home for the ageing
    Magaisa.

That’s why they gave you this reformulated Christianity ✝️ , a repackaged version that has served white supremacy and racism very well. They then trained ‘Negroes’ and put them on automatic while masa looks on sadistically satisfied.
