Dominica’s very own Secret Bay Hotel has been featured in a report on CNN Travel Insider as one of the top new luxury hotels around the world.
The hotel which is located in the Picard area in the north of the island was described as “the perfect secret getaway.”
Travel Leisure Magazine’s feature’s editor, Nilou Motamed, said “the hotel gives a lot of luxury to the island” and also described the food as the best in the Caribbean. She highlighted being able to lie on a hammock, kayaking and having a cook preparing lobster in the room as some of the best features offered by the hotel.
The Secret Bay Hotel was the first hotel mentioned in the report. The Crusoe Lodge on the Juan Fernandez island off the Chilean coast and the SLS South Beach Hotel in Florida were also featured.
Secret Bay offers sustainable luxury villas and bungalows and is described as the perfect place for a Caribbean honeymoon vacation, an an anniversary vacation or the secluded holiday of a lifetime.

Well done Secret Bay hotel – keep up the great work. Now you have some clout to encourage the Dominican Government to improve the infrastructure of the island. We want our guests to keep coming to improve our tourism economy and bring Dominica in line with some of the other Caribbean region. Make Dominica the best island in the Caribbean to visit and stay. Crime free of course!!!

Actually, the hotel is on the way to Picard from Roseau, in an area known as Ti-Baie (Ti-Bay). It is located on the seaward side of the road, about 250 metres before reaching the lilac-coloured hotel.
it is located in Tibay that little village by the road just before you hit picard on your way from town. on your left hand side there is a 20 feet container by the road and the you see a green and white building on the left. hope this helps. the sig is right there you can’t miss it

yes wee i am dominican and i have watched my country plunder and shire for the last 10 years, and while i am very happy for this to be in the international news, but to what benifit is it to us, when we have a goverment that has no intrest in it people, a happy state is one without so MUCH crime, think back 10 years ago, did we have as much crime weekly no, we had caribbean star, liat american egle bringing in tourist as well you where used to seeing 3 or 4 cruise ships in our port, yest we had 1 ship in and hardly any tourist alighted off that ship. so yes congratulations to secret bay, like a few years ago it was jungle bay and before that the fort young, but i ask you where is this going to benifit our economy, how will a handful of tourist going to one very beautiful but also very exspensive hotel boost our economy, what about all our dive hotels, we are supposed to have the 2nd or 3rd best dive site in the caribbean, why isnt that being pushed by the goverment, we had our moment when pirates came to dominica, the goverment themselves should have jumped on the PR programe and promoted our island, but no what was our goverment doing, playing best friends with chavez. so before we can crow a victory we need to see if we can encourage our goverment to promote our island, clean up our island and also give our island back to its people, who used to be voted internationally as the friendlest people in the world, instead of just congratulating one small business, which is also out of the economic reach of your daily dominican to visit.

I not ask for any your respect like my family and neighbours around me, we ask for a daily wage to support our families, and as i said previously i am very happy for this hotel and its owners dispite who they are and where they from, but if the goverment not gonna help its people by keeping us a destination of saftey and easy access, then what the hell is the point, i can not afford no longer to go visit my family abroad, nor send my children abroad to study, i have gone from earning a good annual wage via tourisum to having to look for work any where to even sell from my garden, i am educated my children are educated, but we are struggling, and while it is nice to see recognition again from my island, i see no benifit,i ask how will they get people in to visit, will they have there own private jet, because people will have to add extra exspence to come to DA from the states once american eagle leave our shores, and how may flights extra liat going to put to come in to DA???? where is our ministers, why are they not going to promote our country, that is what i want to know.

where is secret bay hotel located

Secret bay is located in Thibay. It is before Picard coming from Roseau after the Pointe Round bridge when coming from Roseau and you go up the hill around the corner before you meet the guess house around the corner. You will see the sign saying Secret Bay Hotel. It is located way down on the beach. You have to know the area to find the Secret bay Hotel.

Wow I am sooo impressed. I just cannot imagine Dominica giving that level of service. I wonder where the workers got trained. Or maybe they have lots of foreigns staff facing their guests? anyway, well done and keep it up.

think better about the quality of our people and maybe things will improve.
I find that you are very rude to make that comment. Give Dominicans their respect when comes to hospitality. We serve our visitors with pride, and dignity, that is why they keep on visiting. Stop under estimating Dominicans. All where we go we always at the top.
