Skerrit highlights importance of CBI funds as financing factor

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has reiterated the importance of the funds received from the Citizenship By Investment (CBI) program as an important financing factor that needs to be sustained for future generations.

He said the CBI money comes with its own challenges in terms of banking situations and the ability to do certain transactions but says everywhere else in the world faces these similar circumstances.

“We have to continue to work within the structures of the law to ensure that we can continue to have the benefit of the CBI program in terms of financing required for Government Public Sector Investment Program but also for the continuation of the housing revolution. “

Skerrit said the construction of health centers, an indoor sports facility at Stock Farm and a number of social programs are also funded from the CBI programme.

My people , read this big Laugh from your failed Skerrit: “Skerrit said the construction of health centers, an indoor sports facility at Stock Farm and a number of social programs are also funded from the CBI programme.”

Health Centres has been under construction years before this fake Skerrit came into Government. The biggest disaster Skerrit created and killed has been our bananas, other agricultural produce, for example lines, peppers etc, as no more goes to the United Kingdom.
Skerrit is this big failure and he has ruined our economy, our government service, our poor people reduced to beggars and silly labourites out thee crying “We love our failed Skerro” LOL..LOL.
This Prime Minister and Labour government is the worse we have seen and witness who has destroyed our Dominica and reduced our hard working people who has been on the fields as “Hucksters” to beggars. Shame on you Skerrit and your blind followers.
From the top floor at Financial Centre, we know what is…

For the government to rely almost exclusively on the sale of passports to finance the basic needs of Dominicans is utterly ridiculous. This shows a government without vision , creativity and astuteness. What is most needed is a vibrant economy that produces jobs of livable wage so that anyone of workable age who is willing to work can easily find employment. The people, with the exception of Skerrit and his rapacious enforces, are condemned to a life of beggary, poor health and living on the edge of survival. Where there is no vision the people perish. For the foreseeable future, without any doubt, Dominica will languish at the bottom in the Eastern Caribbean.

Your egotistical attitude forces you to think all good ideas come from YOU.

what is it that drives our economy Skerrit?
You made yourself a millionaire in a cabooway economy by selling citizenship (passports). You invested in your bank accounts.

You said you grow and sell agricultural produce……do you sell overseas or local?
If you have a market for your agricultural produce and you find it to be a lucrative business then ….. agriculture should play a bigger role in our economy Skerrit.

We out here can use our brain and mash down your pychology tactics.

We should be exporting water to all dem islands that we buy bottled water from.

If you don’t want to put up a factory then organize a contract for export of bananas, plantain and dasheen to dem companies that making chips.

We can build and operate our own cement plant….we have pumice all over de island.

I am not an economist, and I don’t have all de ideas
    Let’s try a ting nuh

Skerrit your time in office afforded you a dubious opportunity to enrich yourself in ways that a PM salary in Dominica can NEVER afford.
You are the puppet of the greedy ‘elites’…… that is your legacy.
You will be reminded all de way to jail and further to the grave.

You talk alot of horse …. right about now!!!
If not CBI then what Skerrit?

Once upon a time Dominicans were right vexed with their government selling their passports to all and sundry unsavoury characters – even before the issue of diplomatic passports raised its ugly head. I’m taking about the late 1990s and early 2000s, when CBI was not the main source of government revenue. What has happened to all those vexed people, I wonder? CBI has been around since the mid-1990s, under governments of all three parties – DFP, UWP and DLP – but only the latter has taken this to a new low. Not only because of the degree of reliance on this but the manner in which the current program is opaque and unaccounted for, single sourced and providing marginal benefits to the good, ordinary people of Dominica apart from low wage hospitality positions and questionable quality housing.

I may be a mere “foreign observer” but this is one thing I’ve been observing since its inception – and it is a far cry, today, from its inception under the DFP. And certainly not better.

You ask what happened to these vexed people. Most of them are part of the scam now. They could not resist Skerrits famous envelopes. Today’s Dominica is a nation without morals and scruples. Greed rules the nation!

My People, wake up& take note of one of the biggest failures of this DLP failed, faked immature Skerrit and his worthless, incompetent Labour Government:
      1. CBI has been around since the mid-1990s, and
      2. Under governments of all three parties – DFP, UWP and DLP – but
      3. Only the latter (who is failed Skerrit and DLP) who has taken this to a new low. 4. Not only because of the degree of reliance on this but the manner in which the current program is highly “opaque” and “unaccounted”
      5. for, single sourced, providing marginal benefits to the good (we know who?) and,
      6. Ordinary people of Dominica apart from low wage hospitality positions and questionable quality housing.
Failed Skerrit has been this fake, immature, incompetent Prime “Odd” Minister. Skerrit, the chief clown and his waste of time Worthless Cabinet and blind acolytes has reduced our suffering families/people over 19yrs to beggars, insulted where no jobs has been created. The worse Prime “Odd” Minister we have seen in our Dominica. Skerrit must Go now,…

Skerrit this is Bull …. politics talk. You are a failure and exceptionally ignornt to the process and etiquette of social-economic development. You have failed to plant this seed to take our people out of poverty and you rather go through the dirty backdoor to raise dirty funds for our ailing Dominica where you have failed and you remain to talk obscene language on matters to do with our Dominica and its people. You have failed us and you have no idea how to plant a seed but you know how to pick the dirty mango from the tree. Well we will not eat it, you are left with this dirty mangos with all the worms in it that u will eat and enjoy. We will not join you in this nastiness and corrupted behaviour of yours. We look forward to decent mature Hon Linton and his UWP Team.
Skerrit has reiterated the importance of the funds received from the Citizenship By Investment (CBI) program as an important financing factor that needs to be sustained for future generation. Nonsense talk Skerrit.

I feel sorry for Dominican. All this money this DR DR PM has made in this passports selling and Dominica still in that mess. This man has not put anything in place God forbid the passport selling is out of business. Guess he doesn’t care because he’ll blame Mr. Lennox Linton for that to and the sad thing is his followers will believe him. In time to come I guess the lines at money gram and western union will get longer by then the people he bring down to vote will feel the pain because they’ll have to find money to send home for their families.

:?: When will that one-man corrupt rogue regime prime mistake start thinking objectively and start speaking sensibly :?: He says that there are banking issues as it relates the CBI, which means there’s illegalities with the CBI! :?: He also said that the CBI has to be protected for future generations,is he losing it, maybe he has :?: How can citizenship/passport sale be an economic activity for the island :?: Is he saying that this should be the only industry for economic development of the island :?: How many passports/citizenship can the island sell to build it :?: Therefore this means soon if it has not already been done, foreigners holding our citizenship passports will be outnumbering the indigenous population on island! :?: Those supporting the one-man corrupt rogue regime blindly are they not concerned :?: What I think that rogue is doing, selling passports until all those in his circles are wealthy on passport sales!!!

But there was housing, sports and health centers before CBI. Moreover, there was the pride of accomplishment that comes from achieving from ones own resources and initiatives.

CBI may have made a few financially wealthy but it has impoverished the social well-being and status of Dominicans in general.

    January 2, 2020

CBI is unsustainable, it creates corruption, and it is a national embarrassment. We have to sell our own identity in order to survive ? Come on ! You have been the PM for long enough to have created industry and employment, to have regenerated a diversified agricultural program with receiving stations, our own ship transporters, and regional markets. What do you have to show for your efforts ? All you have done is create a hand-out mentality; money by any means without having to actually work for it. You have not lifted people out of poverty, in fact the divide between the haves and the have nots is even greater; and these ghettos you are building around the island are going to end in tears. You should have created a legacy, but you have done nothing but beg and create beggars.

Gerald: Please be advised that: as it rates to failed incompetent failed Skerrit:
Skerrit: “Come on ! You have been the PM for long enough to have created industry and employment, to have regenerated a diversified agricultural program with receiving stations, our own ship transporters, and regional markets. What do you have to show for your efforts”
What you recommend above is just ad right, but believe me not the thoughts and lack of intellectual of this failed Odd Minister Skerrit.
Skerrit and his failed corrupted immature Labour government must go. “Go to Hell, Go to hell, go about your failed damn business and take her with you. Political hypocrite, you have stained our Dominica and corrupted our government service and reduced our people to beggars and poverty. Skerrit, where is our passports money. We need an account of our money. You have been this failure and Get Out.
There is no way that you are able to attain or reach that level of intellectualism of Hon. Lennox…

Typical sign of a weak and stagnant economy. Unbelievable that this guy is putting the future of the nation in the hands of something that we have no control over and can be terminated at a moment’s notice by some act of parliament/congress of more powerful foreign country.
What if there is a terrorist attack in the US and they immediately demand we terminate the program (or else)? Worse yet, what if one of the terrorists is carrying a Dominican passport?

So….were all those performances by regional and international artistes part of the Government Public Sector Investment Program or the housing revolution? His little speech on the importance of sustaining CBI financing would be more convincing if this government stopped spending money on trivialities.

Marijuana made legal for export & local consumption would not only be more profitable to the treasury, but it would also put money into the pockets of the local population and the economy by extention.

With CBI, the only way locals benefit is when they get cool out!
