BASKETBALL: Gloria Shillingford Raptors shock Juggernauts

In tightly contested game to decide which team would move on to play the Raffoul Snipers in the Division 1 finals, Raptors pulled off an upset victory over the Juggernauts of Salisbury – the team with the best regular season record in Division 1.

The final score was Gloria Shillingford Raptors 69 points to Juggernauts of Salisbury 63 points. The Raptors captured the three-game series 2-1.

Top-scoring for Raptors were national team player Steve Hypolite 16 pts , Devon Barton 15 pts and Troy Henry 15 pts and for Juggernauts Dean Vidal 27 pts and Delton Charles 10 pts.

The following teams have now qualified to play for the championship in a five-game series format: Glam X-Men and Paix Bouche Eagles for the Premier Division and Gloria Shillingford Raptors and Raffoul Snipers for the Division 1 .

The finals will begin this week at the Lindo Park with two games this Wednesday:

Game 1 – 7 pm, Gloria Shillingford Raptors verses Raffoul Snipers
Game 2 – 9 pm, The Glam X-Men verses Paix Bouche Eagles

    I am so so so proud of my guys . We tking it all the way this yearso give us room . One would have thought before that wesley woulnt have pull through but am so proud that we can finnally do what we set or minds to . So raptors excellent performance so far . Let’s mash them up for Good and force them to Respect Raptors .

    Wesley was lucky!!! Injury held back the Juggernauts and they capitalized on that… Lucky!!!
