The West Indies Cricket Board’s Selection Panel has called up Carlton Baugh to replace Denesh Ramdin for the first three matches of the Digicel One-Day International Series against Australia.
Ramdin suffered a fractured right thumb while batting on Saturday afternoon in the second West Indies warm-up match at the 3Ws Oval at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies.
Ramdin, who was appointed Vice Captain, will return to Trinidad to start rehabilitation. He is expected to be out for a minimum of two weeks. A new Vice Captain will be named in the coming days.
Baugh made a century (140) while playing for Jamaica against Trinidad & Tobago in the Regional 4Day Tournament. His place in the Jamaica XI has been taken by Horace Miller, who will fully participate in the match.
The Playing Conditions of the Regional 4Day tournament allow for replacement players if a member of the original playing XI is called up for West Indies duty .
West Indies will depart from Barbados and arrive in St. Vincent on Monday, where they will contest the first three Digicel ODIs on March 16, 18 and 20 at the Arnos Vale Cricket Ground.

unfortunate for my boy ramdin.get well soon.as for west indies cricket board .need you to come to your senses and get this problem resolved.as a die hard fan i would like to see my best west indian team on the field at all times.untill that is done our cricket aint never gonna reach its altimate peak.all the best in this series to the team and we the fans have your back.fair enough team
So So Sorry Ramdin got injured I feel this was his time to cement his place in the West Indies team. I do believe he is the better of the 3.. But I join you guys saying this is an oppotunity for Baugh and the team on a whole to do well against Australia..I do beleive the WI can hold their own against these so-called top teams..They just need the Killer Instinct and unfortunately with Sammy as Captain it wont happen.
Go for it Baugh! These opportunities do not come very often..You are a very competent keeper, so just try to score heavily, for yourself, your country, your team and for we the fans..
Unfortunate for Ramdin; hope the recovery goes well. Well Baugh make the best use of this opportunity as the new revolution West Indies cricket team aims for greater things.
