The Beauséjour Stadium cricket ground which is located near Gros Islet, has been officially renamed Darren Sammy National Cricket Ground, it was announced today.
The stadium which has a 15,000 seating capacity was completed in 2002 and had hosted domestic matches for the Windward Islands cricket team.
The right-handed batsman and a fast-medium bowler made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Bangladesh in 2004, becoming the first person from the island of St. Lucia to play international cricket.
Ever since that time, the Saint Lucia-born cricketer has made a name for himself, playing in multiple tournaments and showing off his skills on the international scene.
he deserves it very responsible, Supportive and great captain of the team
A fitting honor to Sammie

Well deserved, and we’ll represented. Who Jah bless no man cursed. A uniter, not a divider. Sammy for president. Way to go St. Lucia. You lead the others should follow.
I am very pleased with this development. Honor those who deserve honor.

So what happens in the future if there is the next ‘Sir Viv Richards’ or ‘Brain Lara’ type player from St. Lucia, are they going to rename the stadium?
WOOOOTTTTTTT!!!????
Well well well congrats SAMMY!
it will hurt der feeling everytime they’ll have to refer to it or go to it
Before Ossie Lewis and Lochart Sebasien passes, the Windsor Park Stadium should be renamed the Ossie Sebasien Sports Stadium.
Kindly give us a good, sound reason. Doesn’t seem to have had any thought behind it, this comment.
Why?
