BUSINESS BYTE: Kings of the street – Stockfarm FC confident to retain the crown

As the last half of the FINAL ROUNDS of the Kings of the Street football tournament happens today Saturday,  from 1pm, at the Goodwill Playing Court in Lindo Park, last year’s champion remains confident.  Stockfarm FC, the champion of the 2018 edition of the said tournament organized by Adiktive Sports, stated through its captain that the team is confident that they have what it takes to retain the crown.

This year’s edition of the Kings of the Street football tournament dangles $3,000.00 and other exciting prizes to the winner, plus a bye into the Final Rounds next year. Extra funds to be raised from the tournament shall be used to help build an envisioned mobile Sports Academy dedicated to all vulnerable children and young people in Dominica.

This vision and the tournament is being generously supported by Dominica News Online (DNO), Madhausx Consulting Group, Clear Harbor Dominica, Springfield Trading, Twisted Sounds, Langlais Trucking, Carib Beer (the Official Beer), L’Express des Îles Dominica, Wata water (the official water), ArchiCheer powered by Archipelago Trading, Cubix Media Lab, Jordan Jerome Photography, the Dominica Sports Division, D-Treads Tyres, and celebrity star partners DJ Repeat, Signal Band, and the People’s Band Triple Kay International.

The first half of the Final Rounds was held last Saturday with the reigning Kings of the Street topping their group and Never Ready Boyz of the Goodwill Qualifier topping the other group.  These two teams are expected to move on to the Quarterfinals today with each of them only needing to play one more game each.

With Mahaut Qualifier standouts YTS Ballers and Jimmit Ballerz forfeiting just before the Final Rounds began, eight teams remain in contention.  They are Grandfond Young Boyz, Kingshill, FC 509, and Ghost Town Ballers in Group B; and Grapefruit, Switch Gang, Kommess Pack, and YW3 Young Starz in Group A.

Excitement and non-stop street football action will surely filled today’s remaining games as all these teams compete to reach the Quarterfinals of the tournament.  Just like last weekend, all football-loving fans and the general public are invited to attend and watch all the games.  Drinks and other refreshments will be available at the bar stocked with drinks from Carib Beer, Archipelago Wine & Spirits, and Springfield Trading.
