Courts/LIME National Rounders League ends with ball-o-rama and prize giving ceremony

Courts/LIME National Rounders League champion, Tremors

The 2011 Courts/Lime National Rounders League came to a close on Sunday with an exciting ball-o-rama and prize giving ceremony at the Windsor Park Stadium.

Eleven of the teams were on hand for the ceremony; however eight participated in the ball-o-rama with the League Champions Tremors and Runner Up ACS South Defenders.
The others were K.T. United, 2010 League Champions, Domsetco Stars, Canefield Strikers, Matadors, Capuchin Reformers and Wine Store Dubique Strikers.

Tremors won Capuchin Reformers in the first semi-final while K.T. United had the better of ACS South Defenders.

In the grand final, the League Champions defied the support given to the runner up K.T. United and won convincingly in the ten over final by 55 runs.  Tremors 161 for 2 to which K.T. United replied with 106 for 8.

The prize giving was addressed by the president of the National Rounders Committee Maclean Elizee, who complimented the players, sponsors and committee for a successful league and pledged to work to making the 2012 more successful with insurance of players top priority.

Lettricia Cadette representing Courts, the co-sponsor of the league, complimented the participants and the organizers and pledged her company’s support while Abraham Browne representing the Sports Division gave the department’s continued support to the league and encouraged the players to support the Sports Division in its drive to develop community sports by working with sports officers in the various districts in the quest to organize district sports committees.

Co-sponsors of the League LIME, through their Corporate Communications Manager Ferdina Frampton, pledged their continued support to the League.

For the first time cash prizes were made to some of the outstanding teams.

The champion received an additional $600.00 and Runner Up $300.00.  Closing Ball-o-rama champion received $400.00 and runner up $200.00.

Prizes were awarded as follows:  Opening Ball-o-rama – Courts Mixers.  Zone Winners:  South East- Domsetco Stars, South – ACS South Defenders, East – K.T. United, South Central – Courts Mixers, West – Capuchin.

Highest Scorer:  South East – Angela St. Jean, Home Base Boetica, 549 runs, South – Julia Bruno, ACS South Defenders 872, East – Sylvanie Burton, KT United 719, West – Annie Sablon – 588.  Highest Scorer Overall.  Julia Bruno.

Most Disciplined Team: LIME Unpredictable

Closing Ball-o-rama Runner Up – K.T. United

League Runner Up – ACS South Defenders

League Champion – Tremors

    Good work women…all of you. Get involved in sports and physical activity to try to beat those chronic non communicable diseases that we are plagued with. Do not worry with persons about your size… work on it but know that with each match you play..you are working on your cardiovascular system. Keep it up…..and do not worry about money…sports was not about money before…we used to do it for fun and exercise…these are the greatest benefits.
    Just keep the drama down..women.. I know we like to make quarrel and behave badly at times..but remember our children are watching and society..behave always in a presentable way.

    courts sponcer $5000. ecd how much did lime sponcer. for a winning team 600$ is really small. the oppening ballorama champ played over 20 teams and only got a trophe and closing ballorama champs only 8teams played and got $400.in my opinion thats not fair .

    These women are massive….and I bet the smaller ones appear that way because they are next to these massive women but in reality they aren’t small themselves……black women please watch yout diet
