DFA suspends Scotia Bank Bath Estate

footballThe Dominica Football Association (DFA) has suspended defending Premier Division Champs Scotia Bank Bath Estate pending a “disciplinary hearing.”

The Bath Estate team, playing its second game of the premier league, was down 3 nil to Bombers of Portsmouth when they refused to continue the game.

This resulted in match officials ending the game “prematurely.”

The hearing is set for September 12,2013 at the Football House in Bath Estate.

Dominicans stop making all u self look like fools. why comment on something that you don’t know about? Most of you here commenting about team walking down field and what not. The referee confirmed that the team did not walk down the field that they stood on the field and that’s when Portsmouth went down to score their 3rd goal. So get all u facts straight before coming and make stupid and ignorant remarks here. But the DFA and their P.R.O has to take blame too cause they ran to the media on the day of the incident and said that Bath Estate was down 3-0 and they walked down the field.

Its funny how the Dominica Football Association is very laid back in so many ways. I really do admire the fact that the current president is trying to bring change, however change starts within the office and board. Football teams can’t be playing every weekend on fields that are not suitable for playing yet still officials let games go on. Where’s the communication? The effort in making stuff happen? Secondly the Dominica Referee Association totally needs a change, and I will boldly say that there’s a lot of officials that are against certain football teams and this will bring a lot chaos within the league. I really think that we footballers should demand and protest towards change so we can enjoy our football much more because we aren’t getting any form of finance nor insurance when we are injured. And if officials continue to behave in the bias and inconsiderate manner then a lot will be done rather than said. We footballers need greater respect!! And I say this with no apologies!!

First and foremost a lot of comments written here make absolutely no sense at all. If anyone of you was at the football match from the first whistle to the very last, your comments would have been different. Don’t be so ignorant to judge men who show themselves different in public,I’m also a footballer and I can boldly say that the Dominica Referee Association is unfair and have a lot of discrimination towards certain teams within the league. So don’t be quick to bring down men who come out every weekend to play their guts out playing football at their best giving their fans something to cheer about.

Bold Speaker, stop being idiotic. The Bath Estate team has disgraced their sponsors. If they had a problem with the referees, they should continue to play their game and forward a report later. Players going to play games high as a kite and then you all want to put blame on administrators and referees. Stop being sour losers. Learn to take all you blows. If Bath Estate were leading three nil and the referee had insulted one of their players, they would not have walked down. By the way, the referee said that he did not curse the player. It is now his word versus the referee’s word. So Bath estate behave. All you team has a reputation for bad behavior.

Very Immature on the part of the Bath Estate Players , you guys are bringing a bad name to Football, and to think that one of your players just got the player on the year.
Where in the world will you guys go and display such bad attitude? Sore looser!

plz this has ntn to do with the players personal life..the bath estate team brings alot more growth to foodball than some teams on island…giving wat bad name to football…just as how the refs want the players to respect them on the field so should the ref respect the players..when a player insults a ref he is banded or red carded…somthing should be done with disrespectful ref..point blank..thats the reason the game was discontinued..bath estate team is not the first to walk out due to disrespect from ref and no other team was suspended but y is it that they are the ones to be punished..this need to stop..

Morne Bruce I would really want you to point out to me where standing on a field in protest because your player was verbally abused by the referee is bringing a bad name to football. It just goes to show that you are commenting on the matter when you are not aware of what happened

They need to also suspend the La Plaine and Grandfond team for the incident that resulted in sending the persons child to the PMH. They almost kill the young feller. The worst thing is knowing this boy left the field to avoid being in any fight and he was the one that got hurt. That child so quiet.

This certainly does not augur well for their sponsors, Scotia Bank. I believe that the bank should call them in to explain their actions. This is certainly not the publicity that the bank wants. The circumstances does not matter. The team had no right to effuse to play. I am a fan, but I call a spade a spade. I am very disappointed in the team’s management.

Dominicans need to stay out of matters they knw ntn about..as a lover of football..everybody has to have self discipline..yes..ALSO the referees..at no point in time a ref should think its ok to blatantly disrespect players wen the look for respect from them same players…Estate has always been a fighting team..win lose or draw.they being 3 down is of little matter..DFA needs to better train their ref to give respect to get it..We have referees going to do games drunk and al..that wat the focus should be…

Let me tell you, these guys have no discipline. It’s the same in basketball. I hope the DFA punishes Bath Estate severely and make an example of them.

      September 13, 2013

boss do you even know what happened? but I don’t blame you because the DFA brought the wrong information to the public. DFA made it look like bath estate walked off the field because they were down 3. The team stood on the field in protest after the captain was verbally abused by the referee when it was 2-0 and that’s when Portsmouth scored their 3rd goal.
