Good Job Purple Dragon, we definitely need you all to keep our youths in check and be able to fend for themselves. I cannot applaud you enough for encouraging the youth to engage in such a grand affair. Keep up the good works no matter what critiques say about your tournament. LOVE IT!

this is the kind of ignorance that purple dragon philosophy tries to fight. I’m a former member so i know what i’m talking about. as a child practising martial arts i was forever “challenged” by buffoons who believed that i was ryu or ken and that they were living in the world of streetfighter – to put it metaphorically. If you want to brawl then start a fight club in your neighborhood.

So can you defend yourself? it’s quite an interesting qeustion. How would a purple dragon member React if they got jumped by two Tarish man that can fight?

I wish there was a capoeira school here. Not in place of any of the other schools, mind you, but because capoeira (according to legend) began with the slaves of Brazil as a way of learning to defend themselves, and it is thus linked in a way to the Caribbean as well. It could work well with some of our music, too, since it is a martial art that involves moving to music (a martial art disguised as a dance so that the slave masters would not realize what was actually going on, supposedly). If there are already capoeira lessons going on, my mistake; I just haven’t seen them advertised anywhere.

I want to applaud Sansai Robin and Professor for all their hard work over the years with our young boys and girls. Because of their investment in our youth, we can have strong boys and girls who are great achievers, with discipline and pride. They believe in the Don Jitsu Ru System, because they believe in themselves. I wish the Dominica Team all the best at the tournament tomorrow.
