Dominica competes in Martinique Boxing tournament

A group of young Dominicans is presently in Martinique competing in a Boxing tournament.

The Boxing Tournament for Creole Speaking Countries runs from July 2 to July 4 in Lamentin.

Boxers from Gaudeloupe, Martinique, Guyane, Haiti, St. Lucia and Dominica are participating in the event.

So far, on Thursday night, Charles Leatham of Dominica has won his first bout against his Martinique opponent.

However, Mitchel Bertrand, of Dominica who is competing for the first time in a regional competition, has lost his bout to Guadeloupe.

The full Dominican team consists of:

    I wonder if our boys can speak Creole. not trying to be negative, i’m just wondering. Young boys in places like grandbay know creole but most young boys don’t know allot except from : wap wap, dam dam, allor zanmi.
