Dublanc are the first ever village champion of the Universal Security Corporation and Starz Cricket Academy 20-20 cricket competition.
In the final played at Vieille Case on Sunday, Penville won the toss and invited Dublanc to bat after the match was reduced to 15 overs due to rain. Dublanc posted 136 for 2 wickets in 15 overs. Emmanuel Peter scored 54 and Royston Fergus 49 not out; Vincent Lewis 1 for 16 and Kent Jean 1 for 25 for Penville.
Penville got a good start from opener Fabien Etteinne who scored 22 and captain Sango top scored with 41 but with a steady loss wickets towards the end, the team could only reach 125 for 8 wickets to lose by 12 runs.
Fitz Frederick 3 for 18 and Josiah Hilton 2 for 10 did the damage for Dublanc,
Scores: Dublanc 136 for 2 wickets, Penville 125 for 8 wickets.
The champion walked away with $2000.00 dollars and a bag of cricket gear from the sponsor George Royer who traveled to Dominica from the United States for the finals.
