Gayle’s sexism storm worsens with new allegations

Gayle is facing new allegations

The storm surrounding star cricketer Chris Gayle over an attempt to flirt with an Australian presenter on live TV intensified Wednesday as new allegations about his behaviour towards women emerged.

More female journalists aired complaints against the West Indian after he was fined US$7,000 on Tuesday for his approach to Network Ten reporter Mel McLaughlin.

Gayle apologised and tried to brush off the exchange with McLaughlin as a harmless joke.

His team, the Melbourne Renegades, played down calls for sterner action and said their star signing would play again in the Big Bash League on Saturday.

But Fox Sports reporter Neroli Meadows branded the Jamaican a “creep”.

Sick world out there. I wonder if he had touched you what the outcome would be like. Stupes

Had Chris Gale proposed to her in her work place and dangled a 100 karat diamond in her face, I wonder what the response of those same media critics be? Interesting!

  3. January 7, 2016

What did Chris Gayle say to this woman that was so demeaning? I suspect there is more than meets the ear and eyes. Much-a-do-about- nothing.

I am black but i must say that a large percentage of black men have no respect towards women while most are ill-mannered …when ever you would point out their bad attitude to them ,they say i don’t care or i don’t care about people….in other words they don’t want to make any effort to correct their mannerism.I know very well there is a time to let go but you cannot let it go any where with who ever you want..in other words we did not go under the mango trees together or feed the pigs together either…it’s like going to the beach with jacket and tie ,it is not suitable for this occasion ..this cricketer is not at his first trial ,as an adult i think he should have a better attitude when he is at work because he have been told off too many times..bad habits are simply difficult to go away in adults..

Gayle is a professional and should have known better. He let his Team down, manager,West Indies cricketers and Country. For an English speaking country, read such poor comments. charge him more and completely out of the West Indies team. Standards must be met

He loves women and their company. Due to his sporting career, he has traveled and he should know how to talk to women especially women journalists/reporters. It is obvious they do not like his approach and words nor do they comprehend it or pretend not to be.
Some people blow everything out of proportion and misinterpret words.
From this incident and with others making similar comments, he will have to act professionally toward them. Guess what? Then they will say he is too serious and aloof. Some people will not be pleased.
Times have changed. That is the type of world we live in. That is what it has come to.

One understands that Chris Gayle had the wrong timing and pushed it to far but let’s take note Australians a very racist even some well known cricketers are or were. Next there is a radicusly paternity with white women once one comes out openly about an allegation dozens suddenly from no where does the same.

Hello and good afternoon my people. I don’t agree with what he said to the female reporter and his team should Also fine him. Now no one from Fox should stand and criticized anyone because they are a racist oganization. A Black or Hispanic person can’t do anything worthy in the eyes of Fox News or fox Sports so they don’t have any legs to stand on.

Maybe it is a culture thing. I cannot understand, because a sports personality asked a reporter who happens to be a lady for a date or tells her she is beautiful that is causing such a steer. When I played national and international sports, if I had an excellent game, women would almost break down home or my hotel room, in an effort to meet me for a social evening or an autograph. It is alleged, Shane Warne has approximately one hundred and fifty children all over the cricketing world, therefore, if true, I would not be surprised Australian women reporters is in the mix. Like I said, this a culture thing especially in the West Indies. Our women and men love to be with their sports heroes, if you don’t believe me, ask Artama, BogoRoy, Sebo, Ossie, Dyer, Alma and Medina to name a few.

Just an quote: “Occasionally a man’s head will look out of some vehicle and for an instant her eyes meet a pair of male eyes that look at her breasts, her legs, her behind. Those looks. She is waiting for a break in traffic that will let her cross, and again she tells herself, as she did yesterday and the day before yesterday, that she is on Dominican soil. In New York nobody looks at a woman with that arrogance anymore. Measuring her, weighing her, calculating how much flesh there is in each one of her breasts and thighs, how much hair on her pubis, the exact curve of her buttocks. She closes her eyes, feeling slightly dizzy. In New York not even Latins—Dominicans, Colombians, Guatemalans—give such looks. They’ve learned to repress them, realized they mustn’t look at women the way male dogs look at female dogs, stallions look at mares, boars look at sows. ” Mario Vargas Llosa. Fiest of the Goat (La fiesta del chivo). 2000

I think you fail to realize that women look at men the same way men look at women. Its instinctive behavior for a man’s eyes to size up a woman, you’re trying to define/change something that is too complex for your understanding. You cannot change instinct. How the person behaves or treats the other person is a personality and character issue, which can be addressed. Telling a man he cannot look at a woman or vice versa is pure unadulterated nonsense. Its those very same people that tried to tell white men or black men they could not look at black or white women because of their race. Its unnatural… which is why so many people are confused about their sexual identity because impractical rules are being placed on them about thoughts & conduct towards the opposite sex that either emasculates the man or desensitizes attraction to opposite sex. Stop trying to control people.

Have black men forgotten what happened during slavery for even looking at white women? White women who marry, especially black athletes, is mostly for their money. Brothers, love yourselves, so that you will love your black queens. Be careful how you deal with white women because slavery is an underlying thing. It is not completely over and I don’t think it will ever go away. It is just transformed. Conduct yourselves wisely so that you may not have fingers pointing at you.

Mr. Gayle! you may talk to women at any time but, if you want to ask a lady out, you must first tidy yourself up.You completely forget where you were. All that glitters is not gold.

  17. January 6, 2016

I very often compliment women on their looks. Since when asking a woman out on a date is is offensive? However Gayle must understand that he is employed by the sporting industry where political correctness is the order of the day.

    • Together We Must....What?
      January 6, 2016

Asking a woman out on a date when both of you are on the job is Workplace Harassment. (See ACAS.com) handbook on workplace harassment.

In any case, I’m sure the woman have her man/woman already, so Gayle was just being too pushy.

      • January 6, 2016

ACAS . com, just provides guidelines for workplace behavior. It is all part of the institution that promotes political correctness. And if the woman already has a man she can politely decline the invitation.

      • Hmmmm
        January 7, 2016

“Asking a woman out on a date when both of you are on the job is Workplace Harassment”? We spend most of the hours of the day at the workplace. This is where we are most likely to meet someone, either a coworker or a customer. I think that statement is hypocritical.

As for Gayle he should have remembered where he was. This is not the Caribbean. Before you look at a woman in these places its inappropriate. Me personally still enjoy the admiration and compliments of the opposite sex as long as its harmless, which to me this was.

You are missing the point.Something is wrong with Gayles mind. That’s not the occassion for that level of behaviour….Thats why he never bothered whether West Indies did well or not on the cricket field. He seem to be a disturbed individual!

I am sure Gayle is not the only man in the world whom has asked these women out or told them don’t blush, or your eyes are pretty……etc. I guess he is a star so they want to press the black man.
