Im not really a sports man but am following the game but how did xmen win the championship and there is still a playoff round?
Respek de man “Coach Spikes.” Congrats “Spikes”….no today you love de sport.
i played on the national team and everyone thought i was the son of gary moore lol and none of my bros play basketball they love cricket and my oldest bro likes basketball am the only one in my family who plays basketball and i must say am proud to be lime pros for life
@basketball history: to comment on that am not that old but i remembered my bro use to take me to watch some of the games on weekends and i have carried the pros team and have also lifted that name and am in the uk right now and i still wear my lime pros jersey when i go to my games and practises am pros for life and we must compliement MR RYAN ANSELM who is trying his heart most best to continue the pros tradition and also get young guys involved in the sport big ups to ian. we have come so close to winning the championship but we would only make it to semis cause the association never liked the pros from GRANDBAY and am terribly sorry but i must mention that when ever i talk about basketball in dominica in this daba league cause that kind of treatment we experienced was enough to tear us apart and deny us a place in the finals but i will still play in the league anytime am in dominica and we got a team from grandbay playing but for years the daba league is of the same standard no progress instead it is retrogressing we need to get more professional the daba league should be more of a high standard and quality…….
@pedro Garth’s spent the last 12 years playing pro ball & is home having fun before he leaves for his next job. On top of playing in the DABA, he was been working with the young people interested in playing basketball. No one can play pro ball forever. At least he did more than most will ever do & has been a good ambassador for our country.
wat boi…. hurricanes gonna b in primer division next year…..
as soon as i get home its on
Is that the formidable Garth Joseph, the former NBA player now part of X-men? Interesting! Glad the team won, but can’t help wonder what happened to the career of the former NBA professional player!
where are all those comments coming from.and there are no good comments about the blazers.from the windsor park to this present time we are still winning championships.we dismantle, cardinals, phia knicks, clouds and so many other teams.we have one tournaments back to back in sxm and in da.so i know we deserve some respect.and we must win the 2010 daba championship.its a must.
Congtatulations to X-Men, Have some guys on that team, with many moons of experience on the court… a la Mills, Davidson and Toto.
Basketball History, I have a gut feeling that you were very close to the Pros if Old… former player? Remember those famous hook shots of Pierro (deceased) from the corner.
And ValdaBruno, So you were one of those noisy fans trying to distract the refs? Good thing we (yes, I said WE, as I carried the whistle for many a game too) paid hecklers and distractors no mind.
BTW, do ball players still play DONKEY, 21m Round-the-World nd Free-Throw competitions?
@ Ole School
De ole Pros Team: Augustus “Perez” St. Hilaire; Patrick “Jorky” Henderson; Lambert “Bert” Henderson; “Homo”, Bonti “Batu” Liverpool; de Moore brothers; “Arrowboy” Jones; “Pokeson Blondell; Nicholas “Nico” Christian; Bill Masink; John Amastae; Pierre “Pierro” Charles; Eugene “Duggan” Douglas; Willie Fevrier; Adam “Brine” Henderson; Lewis Leatham; Roy Tonge, and so many others.
Pros is the only team to have survived time. First out-of -town basketball team on the island, it played as Bata Pros on the SMA hardcourts and as Heineken Pros on the Wndsor Park hardcourts. It struck fear in the hearts of Caroni Cardinals and Flames. It bought down its full complement of supporters from Grand Bay to all its game (the Stowe sisters etc.) That was when three-pointer was non-existent and the old magician Perez St. Hilaire was scoring from the half-line; Jorky Henderson cleared every body from under the basket for rebounds, his brother Lambert was unstoppable on the big layups and Bonti Liverpool was the fastest defensive guard in the business.
Today, Roy Tonge sees his son Shamal Tonge carrying on the Pros tradition, and Grand Bay can still field a team that ranks # 3 in the DABA. That is something…Yes…That is something.
god to see basketabll finally moving somewhere. time for me to get back in the game
Hey them fellars playing good ball you know they remind me of the old days in windsor park when we used to beat the fence and give all reffs a peice of mepwe keep playing guys, Mills have the trophy hard in his hands.
Great Job Guys, Big up to my Bro in Law, Simon Toto Joseph….
Go Grand Bay Pros! Go!!
congrats to all the players, keep on working hard.
