Granites and Saints for the Southern Cricket League final

Granites and Saints will do battle in the final of the Maxroy Trading La Salette Southern Cricket league to be held this Sunday at Poree in Pointe Michel.

Both teams earned their passage to the final after winning their semi final games which were also played at Poree over the weekend.

On Saturday, Marinor Granites beat Survivors by 4 runs in a keenly contested game.
Batting first, Granites were dismissed for 190 in 26.1 overs thanks to a blistering knock of 77 from Wilson Challenger spiced with 6 fours and 6 sixes. Other contributions came from Roy Charles 31 and Under 15 national player Kershaski Jno Lewis 31.

Bowling for Survivors, Sam Azouz grabbed 4 for 8 from 5.1 overs and Ambrose Birmingham 2 for 36 from 4 overs.

Survivors, in their turn at the crease, were bowled out for 186 in 31 overs despite 54 from Sylvester Mark and an unbeaten 48 from Dorian Alphonse.

Elton Mark was the chief bowling destroyer for Granites with 7 for 36 and Kershaski Jno Lewis snapped up 2 for 24.

Sunday’s game between Pichlen and Saints went to Saints by 7 wickets.

Batting first, the visitors scored 179 in 29.2 overs. John Francis scored a useful 60 laced with 5 fours and 4 sixes. Kade Browne got 31 and Alvinson Jolly 20.

For Saints, Tyrone Theophille took off his wicket keeping gloves to collect 3 for 6 from 1.2 overs. Kirstin Casimir 3 for 29 in six overs and John Matthew 2 for 20 in six overs, were the other wicket takers for Saints. .

Batting, Saints recovered from 76 for 3 but an unbroken 4th wicket partnership of 106 between Theophille, 56 not out( 8 fours and 2 sixes) and Delbert Graham, 54 not out( 6 sixes and 3 fours), saw them reach 182 for 3 from 18.3 overs.

Delroy Liverpool 1 for 36 was the main wicket taker for Pichlen.

    where is my team the star lights.I hope there is a young starlight team, saints couldn,t shine so good against starlights in my days of brown my opening partner, raney,mc dowil, bertrand,franklyn, peter,and the rest of the perfect crew. those were the days.cricket was good interaction. hello old mates, I hope you guys are still playing for fun.
