Jermaine Blackwood makes his mark in Windies/England test series

279B01C200000578-0-Jermaine_BlackwoodJermaine Blackwood made two vital contributions with the bat which helped the West Indies beat England in the third Test at Kensington Oval, on Sunday.

The 23-year-old topscored with a stroke-filled 82 in the first innings on Saturday. He returned on Sunday to score a match-winning 47 not out in the second innings as the home side made 194-5 to secure victory by five wickets.

Blackwood hit the winning runs and also earned the Man-of the-Match award. Earlier in the series, he made his maiden Test century and ended the three matches with 311 runs (average 77.75).

Blackwood spoke to WICB Media after the match.

    They went to Grenada played Smith he failed, Came to Barbados played Hope he failed, but yet still Darren Bravo keep failing and keep playing. Test cricket is taking a head dive. twenty/20 the way to go, we need instant results…….
