Joslyn Prince to make football comeback

Just over a year after he was nearly killed in a motor vehicle accident national football player, Joslyn Prince, will be back on the field representing Dominica.

He will form part of a twenty-man squad to represent the island in the Senior Men Windward Island Tournament to be held at the Windsor Park from Wednesday, April 30 to Sunday, May 4.

Three newcomers and three overseas-based players will also form part of the team.

The team will be lead by prolific striker Kurlson Benjamin and will have Elijah Toulon as his deputy.

The overseas players are Julian Wade, Shern Dailey and Joel Etienne Clarke, while the newcomers are Anfernee Frederick, Chris Lawrence and Dion Laurant.

The other players making up the team are, Calvin Christopher, Delbert Dailey, Egbert Mathew Walsh, Hubert Prince, Briel Thomas, Kelrick Walters, Lester Langlais, Mitchel Joseph, Vernent Joseph and Delroy Parker. The Technical staff reads. Coach- Ronnie Gustav, Asst Coach/Trainer- Keith Prosper, Goalkeeper Coach- Courtney Challenger, Medics Personnel- Albert Noel, Manager- Kelvin Francois and Technical Director- Jerome Bardouille.

Prince nearly died when a vehicle he was traveling in plunged into a huge opening in the road, caused by heavy rains, in Pont Case on April 19, 2013.

He along with national coach Kurt Hector and Norran Jno Hope were on their way to the airport for a trip to St. Vincent to compete in the Windward Island Football Tournament.

Hector and Jno Hope were killed in the tragedy.

    I wish the team the best of luck. Approximately forty years ago, Dominica won the Windward Islands Football Tournament in Dominica. I believe lightening can strike the same place twice.
