Some 21 representatives of teams, village councils and constituency groups from six established districts, on Saturday attended a meeting organized by the South East Sports Committee and the Sports Division to consider the realization of a national rounders league.
The teams agreed to the Registration Fee of $100.00 and the tentative commencement of the league was scheduled for Sunday July 18 with a round-o-rama, at a venue to be decided later.
The league is to be played on a district basis. It will have the qualifying games played in zones, based on the registration of the teams, with the top two teams from each district meeting on a knock-out basis, to qualify for the national championship.
Existing rules used by the South East Sports Committee, will be amended based on suggestions received, to guarantee uniformity of the league regulations and a standard field plan, will be used to ensure a level playing field for all.
