Pioneers Athletics Club hosts annual Fox Mile Road Race

The Pioneers Athletics Club have successfully staged its 3rd annual Fox Mile Road Race on Sunday 3rd April, 2016.

The races stared at approximately 3:45pm at the Wood Bridge Bay Port and proceed south into Roseau to culminate on Independence Street in front PIPERSTEP.

The overall results were as follows:

Male category:
– 1st Jabez Ferrira- 4:36.9 (Pioneers A C)
– 2nd Damien Lucien-4:44.2 (Kalinago Eagles AC)
– 3rd Simon Joseph-5:01.1 (Kalinago Eagles AC)

Female Category:
– 1 st China Tulloch-6:08.1 (Kalinago Eagles AC)
– 2nd Keva Pierre-6:20.5 (Pioneers AC)
– 3 rd Kitwanna Theophile-7:59.3 (Pioneers AC)

A total of 21 competitors comprising of 6 females and 15 males started and completed the event.

This event was supported by Spring Field Trading and Josephine Gabriel & Co. Ltd. We also extend thanks to the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force for its support on the road ensuring safety of the participants.

Finally, thanks to Mr. Daniel Lugay the Parliamentary representative who addressed the runners and also started the race.

    Well done everybody involved. Great to see these initiatives that are no doubt organised during people’s spare and unpaid for time. Good people who truly want to make a difference on this island.
