Results of Roseau Valley Basketball League playoffs

On Tuesday the Fond Canie Rebels defeated the Laudat Spartans by a final score of 91-79 pts, in game 1, of a best-of-3 quarter final. Both teams came into this game with high expectations as they both posess exceptional players. The likes of Jamal & Jervon Serrant & Shaun Reid, for the spartans,  as well as Joel Mc’Intyre, Peter Ricketts & Ronald Bruno for the rebels, were all on show, for this game.

Both teams were missing at least one key player, with Shayne Guiste for the rebels, and Yheudi John for the spartans, both out.

The rebels dominated the opening half of the game, carrying on from where they left off, from their overwhelming performance over the morne prosper long horns on Saturday. They displayed their attributes on both the offensive & defensive ends of the court. But, they suddenly got complacent. They lead by as much as 13 points, but the spartans, on the back of twin sensationals, Jamal & Jervon, and receiving great help from Shaun Reid & Kurt Rolle crawled themselves back into the game, and brought the lead down to 4 points.

The game continued to be well poised as both teams traded baskets, and tried to dominate the game in their own fashion. By the 4th quarter the the spartans were totally into the game, and looked to take the lead, when they were only down by 3 points, but 3 blatent technical fouls within a 2 minute span with 3 minutes to go, surely cost them. The rebels used this to their advantage and closed off the game, in the end, winning by 12 points. Rebels lead 3 game series, 1-0.
