All-rounder Marlon Samuels is almost certain to miss West Indies one-day series tour of Australia next month, after sustaining severe injuries to his eye during a game in the Australian Big Bash on Sunday.
Samuels has already been replaced by England opener Alex Hales in the Melbourne Renegades squad for the remainder of the season and is highly unlikely to represent the Windies in Australia next month.
The West Indies’ five-match one-day series begins in Perth on February 1, placing the all-rounder in doubt for the whole Australian summer.
It appears that Malinga has the last laugh
Wishing you speedy recovery. Hope you feel better soon.
How unfortunate!! The last few weeks have been terrible for Samuels in Australia-first accused of illegal arm action, then hit with a direct throw Warne, them this
We wish him the best as this appears to be a serious injury reminiscent of the days of WI fiery pace of Holding, Joel, Marshall, Roberts Croft etc and era when the batsmen of the opposition were running from their crease to hospital.
We wish Samuels a speedy recovery. We need him fit and ready to go.
Respectfully
