St. Luke’s wins NBD football championship

The St. Luke’s Primary School has won the 2015 NBD Primary Schools Boys Football Championship.

St. Luke’s Primary proved the top team of this year’s tournament when they captured the championship title by winning 2 goals to 1 against the St. Mary’s Primary School in the Final held at the Lindo Park in Goodwill on Wednesday, March 18th.

The day began with a ceremony in which the Sports Coordinator, Mr. Trevor Shillingford and the representative of the sponsor (NBD), Marketing Associate – Ms. Lisa Latouche.

Following the ceremony, the two semi-final matches were played. The St. Luke’s Primary School won the first match against Woodford Hill Primary 4 –nil and the St. Mary’s Primary won the next match against the St. John’s Primary – 2 – nil.

The match to decide the 3rd and 4th placed teams was played between the Woodford Hill Primary School and the St. John’s Primary which the Woodford Hill won 1 – nil.

St. Luke’s Primary captured the championship title – winning 2 goals to 1 against the St. Mary’s Primary. Scoring for the St. Luke’s Primary were Justin Casmir and Tariq John Baptiste whilst Jovan Betrand scored the lone goal for the St. Mary’s Primary School.
