Twenty-one to represent Dominica at football tournament

dno sportsTwenty-one players have been selected by the technical staff of the Dominica Football Association to represent Dominica in the Windward Island Women Football Tournament to be staged at the Windsor Park Stadium from June 15th – 19th.

The team will be captained by Romelcia Phillip, with Chazelle Phillip as vice-captain.

The rest of the team reads: Christina Sobers, Kardisha Joseph, Keana Francis, Tabique Lockhart, Kimara Sabaroache, Christine Maximae, Kimberly Elie, Tangy Ambo, Tania Brunette, Tamanthia Joseph, Kasika Samuel, Britney Stoute, Henrica Samuel, Cassandra Augustine, Hannah Samuel, Miriam Elwin, Tiannah Thomas, Alijah Titre and Donisha Xavier.

The technical staff reads: Tamara Williams – manager, Stanton Seraphine – head coach, Keiron Charles – assistant coach, Melvin Angol – goalkeeper coach, Joel Hamilton- fitness trainer and Glenda Fagan – medics personnel.

The tournament opens on Wednesday June 15th, with Dominica taking on St Vincent & the Grenadines at 7:00 pm, while on Friday 17th June, it will be St Vincent & the Grenadines vs Martinique at 7:00 pm.

The tournament will come to a close on Sunday June 19th, with Dominica coming up against Martinique at 6:00 pm.

St Lucia and Grenada pulled out of the tournament for financial reasons.
