Young cricketers fly to Barbados for cricket festival

Dominica’s team to the Sir Garfield Sobers International School’s Cricket Tournament left the state on Monday, July 5, 2010 to participate the International Schools Cricket Festival in Barbados.

This year, Dominica’s team is made up mainly of players in the Under 17 age group; the intention is to utilize this tournament as part of a development programme to expose boys at the U-17 level and prepare them for tournaments at the U-19 level.  This year’s team serves as an experimental one with eleven (11) U-17 players supported by three (3) U-19 players
