Statement by the PM Skerrit re hospitalization of Grand Fond MP

Stephenson has been airlifted to Martinique for medical attention

I wish to confirm and to inform the country and in particular the residents of the Grand Fond Constituency that Honourable Ivor Stephenson, the Parliament Secretary in the Ministry of Health and the Member of Parliament for the Grand Fond Constituency, was hospitalized on Saturday morning after complaining of not feeling well.

He was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital and on Saturday evening he was flown to Martinique for further medical examination and treatment. He is in stable condition and as time goes by if the need arises, I shall inform the country of his improvement.
I also want to ask the country to pray for his speedy and successful recovery and to also pray for his family as they go through this trying time dealing with the illness of a husband and of course a father and of course to the entire communities of Grand Fond, Riviere Cyrique and Morne Jaune.
So our prayers will continue to be with him and we are providing the fullest support to the family in all ways possible because certainly one can appreciate it is a very trying time for them. Just to indicate that he has been flown into Martinique and is undergoing further medical examination.

What bad news they (Skerrit) gave Ivor so?

  2. May 31, 2017

Why is God’s good name is Dominica STILL air lifting people to Martinique for medical help/intervention? How long has this been going on and how long will it continue? All of the fighting, whining, bickering, for political power should cease and you all should focus on building a HOSPITAL. That fowl cage called a hospital and that pig pen called an airport should be demolished; focus on the PEOPLE’S HEALTH. Quit the nonsense. Build a hospital, build a real airport. Skerrit and his henchmen have their priorities all screwed up.

Y’all should be ashamed to constantly rely on other countries to help and for handouts. this is embarrassing. This is 2017 and they airlift sick people to LOT BOR for help because they cannot do more. Shame.

Hello and good afternoon my people. First I am wishing Mr Stephenson a speedy recovery but base on what I know this will be very difficult because he suffered a stroke. The Prime Minister told us about this medical incident but he didn’t say what type of medical incident Mr Stephenson suffered. Doesn’t the Government have a public information office who could inform the nation and doesn’t Princess Margret hospital have a spokes person who could do the same.

    • May 31, 2017

Must the PM disclose his PERSONA MEDICAL INFO to YOU? Go sit down with your good afternoon. What is so good about this afternoon?

Hello and good evening my people. Well you should give thanks that you are here this afternoon because many people passed away today. Now can you disprove what I said about Mr Stephensons health or do you have a better source than I have.

In less than 12 hours a government official can be flown to Martinique hospital, and the poor Dominican citizens who are the ones paying those officials have to die at the PMH or lie and say they are RED to get some medical assistance, Open your eyes Dominican be enlightened, what is good for the GANDER is also good for the GOOSE.

I am happy that Mr. Ivor Stephenson was flown to Martinique for urgent medical attention. I wish him a speedy recovery. However, my friend who was also Labourite and a foot soldier was not given such priority and allowed to suffer to death in hospital in Dominica… She was from the heart and bowels of labour…   The DLP knows

Good! They should realize Skerrit is for the those who already have, his parliamentarians and family.
      Let them die.

Speedy recovery to you sir, but I have to wonder why he was flown to Martinique? This tells me that treatment in Dominica is and this proves only the rich and certain people can be flown out of the island. We the people go to PMH to be picked up by “Gentle Rest”. Things have to get better in Dominica or we will be dropping like flies.

First off, I wish this gentleman a speedy recovery. I not wish ill of anyone.

The thing that struck me is the frequency with which government officials travel to Martinique for medical treatment. It begs the following questions:
    (1) Are government officials afflicted with ailments that cannot be handled by our medical professionals or hospital?
    (2) Is he quality of medical care in Dominican that much lower than Martinique’s?
    (3) Are government official more special than the average citizen that they need to access premium care in a foreign country?
    (4) If the medical care in Dominica is so poor that government officials refuse to use it, why don’t they bring it up the the standards so that they can avail themselves to those services.

All Skerrit want is the people’s approval to save his corrupt ass from jial?

Be careful that you are not mistaking the TRUTH with rejoicing.

  12. Yeah right!

So, Dominicans must applaud you Mr. Crapo Skerrit for flying one of your puppets in your cabal out to Martinique for medical treatment; while there are others in the government butcher shop PMH simply waiting to die! How come you are not flying any of them out?

The politically privileged; and you Skerrit, refuses to risks your life, at your super hospital for fear of the quacks you have murdering people in that hospital: more dead people come out of the PM than alive, and healthy!

In your argument you claim: “He was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital and on Saturday evening he was flown to Martinique for further medical examination and treatment.”

Then you went on to say he is in stable condition; What trauma he suffered which caused his unstable condition. I’ll leave it at that. If he has to go through examination again that means he was not diagnosed in Dominica: Or, shall we say he was missed diagnosed.

In any event who cares, about your…

Mr. Stephenson, I really wish you a speedy recovery and hope that the most high will comfort your family during this time of trial. However, I can’t help but observe that it seems that the best medical services are reserved for those in the Labour mis-government. Immediately after reaching princess Margaret, they are whisked off at the taxpayers’ expense.

Of course I wish mr. Stephenson well .However, it appears that only people in the government hierarchy get such privileged treatment, which by right should be available to all citizens. It reminds me of the old Soviet Union where the party bosses had their own private clinics, access to hard currency goods and even schools for their offspring.
By the way, why does it have to be the Prime Minister to make such an anno8uncement about a public servant? Does he have a monopoly over the news as well? Mr. Stephenson, I hope you make a full recovery Sir.

  34. May 29, 2017

Now, this is utter ridiculous, the prime minister have no right to be the one informing the country of the grand fond representatives derived illness, is there an information department in the prime ministers office? it seems that Mr Skerrit has the title of leader DeFacto, where everything has to go through him, and the ministers bellow are minions. This hands on attitude may be a sign of ineptitude with the people he has surround himself with, its like bark when i say and back into your corner, long term, it can have devastated effects on the Dominican psyche. We are aware that there are two messages in government, one for the inner circle, and one for the public, if that inner circle is dictated like a secret society, Dominica is in for a rough ride, and the price to be paid will be catastrophic. My instincts tells me that the prime minister is not willing to chance some of his ministers because of the lack of knowledge on the issues, the future is nestled in the dark.Bob.Hotep.

I wish Doctor Skerrit had told us what’s wrong with you so I could pray more effectively for you but all he told us is you felt unwell. In these dats if corruption and cover up I do find a lot of you feeling unwell and have to fly out for treatment. I guess conscience is being disturbed and as a result it affects the heart?
