Tasha P takes Stardom crown

Former Calypso monarch Tasha “Tasha P” Peltier has added another crown to her trophy shelf, after emerging victorious at this year’s Stardom Calypso Tent.

She gave a solid rendition of her ‘Calypso High’ to win that title last night at the show which was held at Petite Miami formerly known as Anchorage Hotel.

This is the fourth time Tasha P has won that title.

“I just really wanted to come out tonight and give the people what they wanted. Good music, good vibes and to leave everybody on a ‘Calypso High’ so that they can come out to the finals and support all 10 of us,” she said during an interview with Manager of DBS Radio Cecil Joseph shortly after her win.

She continued, “It’s going to be a huge show and I don’t think anybody would want to miss out on this particular show, especially seeing that we are now coming back to our usual order of things with our two rounds and we have fresh blood in the finals, two females, we have people returning to the competition…”

Furthermore, she said, “anybody who is talented or gifted can take something and make a beautiful thing out of it.”

According to Tasha P, she was given a gift and the opportunity to showcase that. Once one has discipline, a good team behind you, and people who support your venture as long as it is positive “you can do anything on a blank sheet of paper”, she says.

When asked about her preparations for the Calypso Finals to be held this Saturday Tasha P said she is already prepared mentally.

“And as I said I have a very good team behind me, I have a great fan base…,” she stated. “I am ready as ready can be.”

Second place went to Chester “Daddy Chess” Letang, third place Don ’Tre’ ‘Mighty D’ Lockhart, and fourth place to Davidson “De Observer ” Victor.
