Minister for Information, Science, Telecommunications and Technology Kelver Darroux has announced that the Centre of Excellence and Innovation for ICT, which is being housed in the old wing of the Dominica State College (DSC), is nearing completion.

He made that announcement during the debate of the supplementary estimate held during parliament last week.

According to Darroux, the Centre of Excellence for ICT which falls directly under his ministry is a major project that is being undertaken with funding from the Republic of India.

“This project is nearing completion and I must place on record, our gratitude to the government of the Republic of India for assisting in the development of that Centre of Excellence which is located at the Dominica State College,” he said. “We will see a cadre of our young people being able to go to that Centre of Excellence, further their skills in ICT’s and contribute to the development of the country.”

Phase one of the project was completed in July 2015 to the tune of $291,000 and in October 2015 a technical team from India were on the island to assess the Centre of Excellence and Innovation for ICT.

The Government of Dominica and the Government of India signed on to a Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of the ICT Centre of Excellence for Information and Communication Technology in October 2011.

I am asking do they have to wear red for every thing? even when tropical storm Erika was ravaging the country ,the find that the best thing that they could do even after lives were lost people homeless and hungry was to put their labor t-shirt on them like they were in campaign mode.
