That’s not how the police should go about carrying out searches period, without search warrants, busting live rounds in the midst of children. No that’s not the way. Ghetto youths feel it the most. We were not born with the golden spoons so we got to do what we got to do in order to eat bread. Hustle hustle. Who don’t like lye down by it

It seems people always criticise the police and second guess their actions. When you do this you become part of the problem not the solution.

Take into consideration the fact that the police are the ones who have taken the training to do that job. Let them execute the responsibilities that have been given to them. If you must involve yourself try to do so by taking a more positive role.

Do you not know everybody does better work when they know they are appreciated? A police officer is laying his (her) life on the line every time he (she) puts on that uniform and goes out there to serve and protect to make the nature island a better place to live. Here in Canada we have lost police officers who were gunned down in the war against drugs. One name comes to mind but there have been others.

Recently the Dominican police have made several successful drug busts. I congratulate them :!:

    Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

Why do I up here in Canada take an interest in such goings on in Dominica?

Because these are drugs that will not harm people in Dominica I care about.

Because these are drugs that will not reach Canadian streets.

Yes, I would like the police to take out the big guys, the men at the top, the people who are sometimes called “drug lords”. But to make that kind of hit can require months of undercover work. It may involve work in other countries, and even the co-operation of foreign police forces. We have no idea what is being done because we are not privy to such information nor should we be. We need to pray for our police.

It should be noted when a major drug bust is made cannabis is often found along with the called “hard” drugs. This is because marijuana is part of the drug trade. People who will sell marijuana will also sell cocaine, and vice versa.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

These young guys are the small fry. Everyone knows who the big boys are but you never see them arrested and taking jail. I actually feel sorry for these guys are they are more than likely misguided youth who will now get records etc..

Yes they made the choice to go down this road, but i do wonder what kind of background they come from, especially as Silver Lake is a mini ghetto.

Let’s hope they learn a valuable lesson and are assisted in finding something more positive to engage in.

The big boys will never be arrested when crooks like you who know everything hide behind anonymity on DNO but never there to show up when the time comes. You are no better than the big boys you talk about, every drug bust is the same song you singing, get some occupation

PlThe same way I do not trust the prime minister of Dominica, I do not trust the police force, the force is corrupt and police do plant evidence, it is happening in developed countries where they are caught, on this piece of rock where se eat, drink sleep corruption nothing is possible, the high ranking drugs dealers are protected and the underdogs are the once being harass, persecute, charge and jail, Dominica is a small island and the police do know who the high ranking drug dealers are and they are afraid to go after them, one thing for sure
time will tell, they will be judge one day not by judge and juries, but by the one
and only judge, The Lord God Almighty where politicians, police chief, president etc will protect them since they too will be judged as well where money and worldly materials will not be able to free them, for The Amighty cannot be fool and is not for sale

To get the the “big boys” police have to work, their way up from the “small fry” to get the the to, if their are any. And if their are “big boys” they also had too start from the bottom. Good job by the police dept.

      • December 31, 2015

Well meaning people often have no understanding of how policing is done. They only know what they themselves would do assuming that ideal conditions existed. The problem is ideal conditions do not exist.

The police are trained to do their work. But even then experience is needed. Sometimes they run into circumstances they have never faced before. Every bust must have a strategy. What worked before may not work now.

When police are planning to take down a crime lord it is not something they are going to announce beforehand to the public. People like you and I do not know what is currently in the works nor do we know what difficulties the police are facing or why what should be done appears to be moving so slowly.

We should pray for our police. Partner with them. One way we can do this is by taking advantage of the CRIME STOPPERS program and sharing information that can make a difference.

        Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist

I do hope they learn a lesson here. Some people do run out of options, and choices have to be made for them, based on the circumstances. Stock Farm awaits their arrival.

Stock farm will not see them, we have the best lawer in Dominica. Just tell us how much to pay and we will. Free our boys.

They are victim of the system, a system which is failing not only the youths of Silver Lake only, but the youths of Dominica, when youth hearing from the mouth of their leader, no law no constitution can prevent him, stop him from doing what he wants in the house of assembly, what do we expect them to do, imagine prime minister uttering these words to the speaker of the house and she did not stop him, only on this piece of rock these bull can take place, the rock Skerrit father willed to him, blaming the youths only is discrimination, what about the other youths in Dominica, some never do a single day work, yet they have mansion, what about those using the youths as their drug mule, whst about the youths missing at sea and land, I know of one, raised in a good home, moved to a village in the south went fishing so the story goes, and is missing at sea, the forgotten ones missing at sea, as the saying goes, people in glass houses should not throw stones

Thank you Dr. Sam for your comment :!:

People who care about helping others should listen to you.

People who honestly want to know the truth about the harm these drugs do to the human body, and the problems they create in society, should listen to a medical doctor with a large practice based on helping people. Nobody knows more about drugs than he does.

The fact is not everybody cares about the truth. The facts are only an inconvenience to those who advocate for the drug trade. All they want is to either get high or make money. Their own life is usually a disaster or well on the way to becoming one.

The real answer to drugs is found in Jesus Christ and His gospel :!: Let me point you to Him who is Himself the answer. Please read the following verses in your Bible.

      Isaiah 53:5,6. Romans 5:6-8. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Romans 1:16. 2 Corinthians 5:17.

I thought that DNO wasn’t publishing names of accused until convictions, remember the Astaphan auto theft or motor theft, with the British citizen

ADMIN: Until conviction? Once they are charged, their names can be published. We’ve said that a million times before.

Reading this and listening to Matt, why should Matt try to create in the minds of his listeners that the Police was so wrong to act like they did in that Silver Lake matter? Matt said he recorded the voice of the children instead of the adults to prove a point. He said no search warrant was issued but I hope he reads the statement from the Police. Matt is an instigator. Very technical the way he instigates his malice behavior. You Silver Lake people, the day will come when you ALL will run to the Rock(Police) for recue there will be no one.

Its quite unfortunate, in the name of democracy, the garbage we allow on air. Media personals should have their stories verified before broadcasting. It is wise to investigate first. When I heard Matt on Tuesday, I just turned off the radio. It sounded like pure instigation, and raising of negative reactions to the police…..WHICH WAS WRONG. Shame on MATT. I work close with the police and although they are not perfect, the police are actually working in a very uncooperative, hostile environment. I am glad that the police went into Silver lake with force….anything else and the people would have stalled them enough so that the perpetrators would escape with or hide the drugs. In order to regain our society we have to have a zero tolerance for crimes at all levels. Our people general do not respect our laws, however they will go overseas and obey these very laws. Parents must stop being sutiwez. If we live right we will have no problem with the police executing their function.

And Matt Peltier sitting on his fat a…s again. He used to be be an investigative journalist but now he is reporting only one side of the story. Yes, our police is heavy handed but those young criminals are not pussycats either. Let Matt investigate if these young whippersnappers crossed Mr. Big with their little retail business. I think they did. Matt wake up and do yourself proud. I think the police are protecting someone. You are too lazy, don’t rely on tittle tattle from your sidekick, do the work yourself.
