The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) Scholarship Foundation is expected to announce its scholarships for 2021 this week.
This information was disclosed by the Communications Specialist at the CTO based in Barbados, Johnson JohnRose, during a recently-held panel discussion via zoom which featured Tourism Ministers from a few countries in the region.
“We got a scholarship program, the CTO Scholarship Foundation, we will be announcing today [April 7] or tomorrow the scholarships for 2021,” he said.
JohnRose continued, “One of them is new; it is a scholarship for any Caribbean national wishing to study either sustainable tourism, community based tourism or agri-tourism.”
He added, “So this is the first time we are ever giving this scholarship to anyone who wants to pursue further studies in these fields.”
Interested persons are asked to visit the CTO onecaribbean.org website for all the information including how to apply for scholarships.
The main aim of the CTO Foundation is to provide opportunities for Caribbean nationals to pursue studies in the areas of tourism, hospitality and language training. The Foundation selects individuals who demonstrate high levels of achievement and leadership both within and outside the classroom and who express a strong interest in making a positive contribution to Caribbean tourism.

All you still running behind that tourism thing? fickle industry. Since 2020 we havent had tourist to make any impact. Look to manufacturing and agro processing. when people cannot travel to see you for more than a year, at least you can send them products all year round. At least you can earn a living, at least you can provide employment and skills development.
