Dominica is to join with other members of the Caribbean Tourism Organization to celebrate Caribbean Tourism Month (CTM) in November.
This year the month is celebrated under the theme “One Sea, One Voice, One Caribbean.”
The objectives of Caribbean Tourism Month is to raise awareness among Caribbean people of the importance of tourism in the Caribbean, to enhance the profile of the Caribbean tourism sector in the marketplace and to reflect on the invaluable impact of tourism on the economic, social and cultural wellbeing in the Caribbean.
It also aims to attract positive media coverage of the Caribbean and the local tourism product and to celebrate the diversity of what the Caribbean offers.
Activities organized in Dominica include a radio address by Minister for Tourism Ian Douglas, discussions on the ‘Talking Tourism’ radio program, radio quizzes on tourism and primary school presentations on tourism and the ‘I am Dominica’ campaign.
The following tourism stakeholders will be offering locals and visitors the opportunity to experience their services at special rates:
• Nature Isle Explorers
• Rainforest Riding
• Fort Young Hotel
• Crescent Moon Cabins
• Hibiscus Valley Inn
• Coffee River Cottages
• Comfort Cottages
• Nature Island Weddings
• Picard Beach Cottages
• Le Flambeau Restaurant
• Anchorage Hotel
Well November is a much better time of year to observe Tourism month. I was always baffled at the reasoning behind May as tourism awareness in Dominica when the tourist season is actually closed.
very pathetic… only a few properties and tourism related businesses offering special rates during caribbean tourism month. is this a sign that local businesses do not endorse anything discover dominica offers or the minister of rum is paty to…lol yet another next level
