MV Explorer ISE cruise ship docks on Monday

Dominica expects to welcome the MV Explorer ISE of V Ships Cruises to its shores on Monday.

This is the ship’s only call to Dominica for the 2009/2010-cruise season. It will be docked at the Roseau Cruise ship Berth.

The ship originates from Germany and is scheduled to call in at St. Kitts prior to Dominica. From Dominica the ship sails to Barbados.

A brief ceremony with Government officials, tourism stakeholders and representatives from the Discover Dominica Authority is expected to take place aboard the ship at 11 am.

This is the final inaugural call for the 2009/2010-cruise season.

Approximately 278 cruise ships are expected to call in Dominica during the 2009/2010-season, bringing nearly 527,688 visitors to the island.

May 2010 marks the end of the 2009/2010-cruise season.

Approximately 298 cruise calls are anticipated for the 2010/2011 cruise season.

    Cruise ships are in direct competition with the Islands for tourists.
