Secret Bay Hotel, near Portsmouth, has been featured on CNN Travel Insider on a list of 50 best new hotels in the world.
The establishment was among three hotels from the Travel + Leisure list to be first featured by the media giant.
Travel + Leisure’s features director referred to Secret Bay as, “the perfect secret getaway with the perfect secret name… we love this property because Dominica has really been off the beaten path for a lot of travelers who really don’t realize how close it is….”
The director went on to say “this hotel gives a lot of luxury to this island” and the editor who visited the property “thought it was some of the best food he had ever had anywhere in the Caribbean.”
Secret Bay website says it “offers sustainable luxury villas and bungalows and is the perfect place for a Caribbean honeymoon vacation, an anniversary vacation or the secluded holiday of a lifetime.”
Earlier this year Secret Bay was named the winner of the prestigious Development of the Year Award by the Caribbean Hotel & Resort Investment Summit (CHRIS).
In 2011 Secret Bay along with Rosalie Bay Resort were ranked among the best Caribbean hotels by Travel+Leisure Magazine.

A blessing,or a curse? beauty is in the eyes of the beholder,how does we turn this much needed “FREE”??? press into promoting and education the masses,except not to mention the dreadful hassle some of us exprience to get in and out of this gem called Dominica? The guests of Secret Bay obviously do not share your opinion yes, it can be a hassle to come to Dominica and this gem of a hotel is not exactly cheap. But what they have managed to do is turn their location and excluisivity into an advantage, which per change is also reflected in their name “SECRET” Bay. Cheap and easy is not always the best!

I’m a local and I spent a weekend at the hotel with my American boyfriend and I did not want to go home. I felt like a billionaire. This is the place; I had the best food, made the best love and sleep the best ever.
